Anyone familier with the Fender DG-8S acoustic? I'm going to be buying an acoustic soon,and Guitar Center has a great deal on this one.Its getting great reviews too,but I wondered if any of you knew anything about it?

Yap,I am not familiar with that particular model but IMO fender makes lousy Accoustics.

Ok, Guitar center also has a good deal on an Epiphone PR-4E acoustic/electric.Anyone familiar with that one?

Go and play as many as you can.
There's never been a better time to buy an affordable acoustic guitar. Solid tops [and increasingly backs & sides]are becoming the norm on eveything but the very cheapest models these days.
The guitars you mention are functional... but you'll find someting a lot better for not much more money if you forget about brand names and just try a few out.

Actually the latest range of Fender acoustics are very much improved. They've benefitted from Fender's aquisition of a couple of traditional acoustic brands and from the new manufacturing facilities at Ensenada.
The cheap DG series are no better than they ought to be though...and aren't amongst the best buys in budget flat tops.

Fender I can beleive but Gibson? Gibson was making quality acoustic guitars for nearly 100 years. Which models did you play over there, wherever there may be?
