The following is on Taylor's Wikipedia page. The quote from Keith seems questionable. Was the source of this Davis' book? Can anyone comment on this?

<< At one point during the Munich sessions, Richards confronted him, and said, "Oi! Taylor! You're playing too @#$%&' loud. I mean, you're really good live, man, but you're @#$%& useless in the studio. Lay out, play later, whatever." Richards erased some of the tapes where Taylor had recorded guitar parts to some of the songs for It's Only Rock n' Roll [11] >>

Some of the information on Mick's wikipedia page, and indeed everywhere on Wikipedia, is apocryphal. The "quote" looks a bit funny to me.

I remember reading an article about Stevie Ray Vaughen and in it, Ronnie tells him that he plays louder than Keith and that NO ONE plays louder than Keith. Considering MT's contribution to the studio recordings, I can't see this happening.

Anyone can add/modify the Wiki, and YES there are Obvious mistakes on MT's

<<Was the source of this Davis' book?>>

I think it's from that Andy Johns interview on the iorr lp
Johns tells a story like the above, but Davis 'touched' it up
However the incident Andy refered to, actually happened during the recording of Exile. Not iorr
...obviously accuracy isn't really something Stephen Davis is interested in...

I think Exile is where the trouble started between MT and Keith...

yeah, I remember reading this quote in a book that detailed each stones song. The author of this book (can't rememebr his name or the title) seemed to be out to destroy MT, calling Can't You Hear Me Knocking pretensious, and telling how MT's abscence during B&B was a welcome addition to Glyn Johns, how Keith's farewell message to MT telling him he really enjoyed playing with him was a lie on Keith's part, and how Ronnie Wood saved the Stones, something MT "with all his blues tricks" couldn't do.

And yet there's the story that when Keith & Anita wanted to escape the craziness of Nellcote, they'd seek refuge at Taylor's house.
