OT: Robert Altman, RIP

The film world lost a great one when Altman checked out today.
M*A*S*H
Nashville
McCabe and Mrs Miller
The Long Goodbye
The Player
Short Cuts

Just to name a few.

For music fans, Altman was someone who gave serious attention to the soundtrack of a film, often favoring the confusion or life's sound over the sonic clarity and falseness of a Hollywood film.

Damn big loss.

Great movie maker gone.
The Player is a definitive must.

Remember his using Jump On Top Of Me in the Pret-A-Porter soundtrack.

The Player and Short Cuts are probably my two favorites.

He just finished the Prairie Home Companion with G. Keillor last year.
