Thought I read here a while back as to why they're not playing them anymore. Am i right? Keith angry with Chuck or something like that or is it not official just coincidence? Info on this? MEZ

Maybe it's because they've been playing more of their own Rock N Roll type songs, full of Keith's Berry style riffing.
I suspect that if Keith had his way, they'd play half a dozen Chuck Berry numbers ;^)

as a result of Chuck's propensity of money monger on his copy right or peeping in the women's restroom?

They fell out due to Keith encouraging J Johnson to sue Chuck. Chuck wanted too much money from them if they perform his songs so they don't. People moan they don't change the set list often enough, they have enough Jagger/Richards songs which are of a standard to negate the need for covers, Chuck Berry included.

Nobody does Chuck songs like the Stones. Everytime it's a masterpiece!

"Nobody does Chuck songs like the Stones. Everytime it's a masterpiece!"

The Stones versions are far better then any other covers and even better then the originals. That's because of the two guitar work. And nobody feels better Chuck Berry then Keith.

I'd like to 'em try "Nadine" or "Too Much Monkey Business". Even "Johnny B. Goode".

Go, go, go Ronnie, go go go!

"Roll Over Beethoven," boys--please!

Though "No Particular Place To Go" could benefit from a woven two-guitar assault...

Re: Berry numbers

And of course - Come On! That would be cool.

Why do the Rolling Stones have to pay Chuck Berry if they play his songs?

Re: Berry numbers

The way they play it, IORR is a Chuck Berry number, so there really isn't any reason to add another.

Chuck Berry songs don't sell Rolling Stones records as well.
