USA VS England

OK,

If any of you English blokes happen to run into M. Jagger around London, tell him there's a bet out here if he's willing to accept.

If the US beat England in their 1st game of the World Cup, he put's on a show
where Wyman & Taylor sit-in and play music from Sticky F. Exile & Goats Head S.

If England wins, I'll NEVER publish another request for Wyman/Taylor to re-visit
the Stones... Albett - beat you'll personally deliver that one!!!

Go - USA!!!!

I personally think the US version of Decembers Children is better than the UK version.

The US version of the album (US team) will have a few hit songs (US players that play in England) that will not be on the UK version of the album (English team). The US record company (whatever US TV outlet is broadcasting the games) will also change the album cover (using their own announcers commenting on the game while in a studio in LA) and song order (showing commercials during each match) as opposed to what the band intended and originally released (the original satellite feed seen in England with no commercials during each 45 minute half).

I will be rooting for the US though!

To be correct it`s American Football not football. Outside of the US the whole world is playing football. Thats the sport what rules the world market , well except in the US, but thats fine with us.

There was no album called December's Children in the UK.
That'll be Out Of Our Heads, then!

for almost forty years wears black and green stripes.

I think you should know this player very well...

Boy, you have a lot to lose. How about paying a 5 million bucks? Because that's what it will take minimum.

Speak for yourself. I for one never quite understood why American "Football" is called that. Where does the "foot" come into it except in kickoffs and punts? "Grid Iron" or some such thing would be better. Anything other than what it is called....

Well we've called our football, Football, for 150 years. I'm not going to prefix it with a geographical tag, and in the process anoint Soccer as the exclusive user of the word, as it's most zealous supporters would like. I play football on an oval shaped ground with an oval shaped football fashioned from Kangaroo hide.

For those unaware, ‘Soccer’ is abbreviation of Association Football. It is an English term and was coined by a student of Oxford University.

Americans calling their sport ‘football’, harks back to the days when any sport involving feet in some way, was dubbed football.

"soccer - 1889, socca, later socker (1891), soccer (1895), originally
university slang, from a shortened form of assoc., abbreviation of
association in Football Association (as opposed to Rugby football)."

How they got the 'er' part makes no sense. Therefore that does not make it an abbreviation technically, right? It's just lazy. Like how stupid Americans put the letter R in words - warshing machine, Warshington DC, orl (oil) etc...
