1970 Brown Sugar live, who was there?

I'm just wondering if anyone on the board was at a European show in 1970 and saw Dead Flowers and Brown Sugar live.
I'm thinking it must of been pretty cool to hear those songs before they were released.
Was it amazing?

i saw them here in berlin on the 16th september 70 and i really didn't like it, because i didn't know the songs. but i must say i didn't like the whole concert either(it was my first stones gig and i was 18) because i thought mick was way over the top.

What do you mean he was over the top?

Mick is the top.

I think I know what you mean. Mick was once considered crazy and "over the top". He was a seen as a leader in the music/show business. I think he along with David Bowie and others opened doors to things we take for granted today.

I remember seeing them for the first time in 1978 in New Jersey. Even though I had seen other bands and seen movies of the Stones, I still thought Mick was a mad man.,

Funny that you mention this - they were running the Ziggy concert on one of the MTV channels. I was wondering what people thought of him back then - if it was something that most people were into right away (as the music is so great) - or if his weirdness took a long time for people to get used to before they were able to appreciate the music.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

I think the 1970 Brown Sugar's are fantastic, because of the excellent extended solos MT plays. Some have >2 minute outros . . .

As for Bowie's spiders period, I remember lots of girls in high school walking around with that same make-up. Bet that wouldn't be tolerated these days . . .
