Honestman, you have created two of the most astonishing threads on this website. I have never seen those 70's shots at the top of this page. To this day, new photos continue to emerge and delight.

You forgot the setlist discussion...

1970 typical setlist.
1) Jumping Jack Flash
2) Roll Over Beethoven
3) Sympathy For The Devil
4) Stray Cat Blues
5) Love In Vain
6) Prodigal Son
7) You Gotta Move
8) Dead Flowers
9) Midnight Rambler
10) Live With Me
11) Let It Rock
12) Little Queenie
13) Brown Sugar
14) Honky Tonk Women
15) Street Fighting Man
Statistics regarding Germany at least:
A: promoting current (Get Yer...) long player = 90 % of the songs are performed:
#1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15
B: promoting longplayers since last tour in Germany (Beggars, Through The Past, Bleed) = about 50 % of the songs performed:
#1, 3-6, 9-10, 15
C: 33 % of all songs performed were unavailable (world wide!) at the time:
#2, 7, 8. 11, 13 = 33%
almost forgot that...:
100 % of all songs had never been performed live before in Germany...

But the most important issue of that tour is something else. There is this acoustic bit of Mick and Keith Prodigal Son/You Gotta Move and this was introduced by Mick only during the early Scandinavian dates with words like "And now for the Glimmer Twin section"! Four years before the two emerged as producers under that name!

1971 typical setlist
1) Jumping Jack Flash
2) Live With Me
3) Dead Flowers
4) Stray Cat Blues
5) Love In Vain
6) Midnight Rambler
7) Bitch
8) Honky Tonk Women
9) Satisfaction
10) Little Queenie
11) Brown Sugar
12) Street Fighting Man

Statistics regarding UK:
A: promoting (not yet released!) current long player = 30 % of Sticky Fingers performed:
# 3, 7, 11
B: promoting lps since last tour in UK (Buttons to YaYa’s) = 75 % of setlist:
# 1-2, 4-6, 8, 10, 12
C: only #1 and 9 had been performed live before in the UK

you're absolutely right, vilhelm. sorry, i haven't checked
the tourlist.
it's from the "40x20" book (2002), and there it is described
as "1970 Mick Jagger, Oslo, Norwegen", picture by Dick Waterman.
there are some more on his page:

I always wondered if Keith used this guitar on the 1970 and 1971 shows or decided to use the gibson les paul standard with the white pickguard that is on the get yer Ya yas out cover.

I wondered about this pic too Rob. I have not seen any pics until now of Keith using a Sunburst during the 70 -71 tours. It's hard to tell but I don't think it's the Burst on the Ya Yas cover. That one had it's stock Klusons and this one has Grovers (Of course they could have been changed after the Ya Yas photo shoot) It could be the Bigsby Burst used during the '69 tour as I a hint of a Bigsby behind the bridge. Also note the guitar is capoed at the 4th fret indicating perhaps key of B in open G. Interesting....

agreed - great thread - best perhaps for more than 1 more year.

Now we have talked about Mick's "costumes" in 1969...some of which I am still trying to finalise...it seems on the 1970 Tour he changed his clothes alot more often.
Shall we try and piece together all this like Harold C has done for his great 1972 site?

thanks to all.

"The three girls half-naked , according to Paris Match in its report, tried
to climb on stage, the security didn't want, but Mick was ok and they danced on stage with Mick during 5 minutes! WOW !!!'"

behind the girls is a dude who seems like he also joined in the fun; probably tried to slide up on stage unnoticed in all the breastesses. "hey I'm just one of the gals.."
