Without a doubt their new cd rocks from track 1 till the end,
Nothing on ABB comes near the power of this record.
Straight ahead Rock and Roll with great lyrics, killer guitars and drums.
Yes, its heavily influenced by the Stones but not 2006 Stones, rather Exile era Stones.
if Mick and company had any balls left,they would have the Dolls open up for them in the nyc area, but they won't do it cause they (yes the Stones) would rather have a Kanye or someone else that will not challenge them.
Anyway please give this record a listen you will agree that its great.

I have been listening to this cd daily since it's release.I absolutely love it!
What a dream for them to open for The Stones but we all know it'll never happen.
They'll be touring soon and I can't wait!!!!

Uh, this thread belies that assertion.

the album rocks, doesn't try to emulate Johnny Thunders' sound, has some mature lyrics, has some suitably silly ones, too, is fun, and did I mention it rocks?

the dolls are great everyone knows that,but the stones afraid to have them open is the stupidest thing i ever heard.i mean stupid.for your recollection dopeni does the names pearl jam,guns and roses,tina turner,living color,blind melon,james brown,lynard skynard,blues traveler,journey,george thorogood,foreigner,or the meters ring a bell.all these teriffic bands have warmed the stones in recent tours.you probably have no idea who the meters are,but if you saw and heard how great they are,you would realize the stones are not afraid of anyone warming them up.

Wrong. I doubt they want (soon-to-be) 80 y o Chuck B as a warm up.

Great album, no doubt about that, and it rocks right through, which bigger bang didn't do.

Heard it in a music shop (And heard Cheap Trick's Rockford too). The New York Dolls sucked back in the day, they suck now and they will suck to all eternity. Rockford by Cheap Trick is better, but they just can't make Stones quality songs...

I can't take credit for it. I didn't make it, but it's a great video for sure. I love it because it seems that the guy who made it didn't know where to put Ronnie sometimes, and then he just sticks his head in here and there. Hilarious...

I've just sampled the Dolls album on I-Tunes & I have to say that NO WAY is it better the ABB,which is IMO the best Stones album for 34 years.

you forgot BB kING, ac/dc,prince, and a few other great ones, but lets see this tour we have had Maroon 5,The Tragically hip,Jos stone, trey anastasio,our lady of peace,wilco,jason mraz, and last but not least the one and only Kanye.
Oh yes l have also heard the meters great band, but my point is that at this stage of the game the Stones are running on cruise control, and an opening act that may challenge them playing great Rock Msic may be the kick in the ass that Mick and Company need.
But lam sure that they(the stones) will play it safe.

I am very grateful that you guys notice me that there exist better albums than A Bigger Bang! So important to know... Man, I've been hanging around here too often lately, I completely missed the existence of this must-have album... what is it called? ...ow, nobody cared to name the title I am afraid... well.. probably not that important after all... I'll just give my ABB another spin. Quite like it. It is from the Rolling Stones, the Greatest Rock'n Roll band in the world... Pensionados, but still rocking the roofs off. Not many of that breed.

A great album is just 1 thing. Becoming an era yourself, after being THE icon of another earlier era is something completely different. A lot of bands have been planets in a universe called The Rolling Stones. Planets are great things, and beautiful things can happen on them, incidentally more interesting than anything that happens in the universe itself. But planets will never become as great as the universe.

I like both CD's a lot. Think about it,if in say 1982, someone told you the Dolls and the Stones were still releasing music in 2006 and that you would buy the CD's, you would have sent them to get their heads examined.

Not only that, the music is also fun to listen to and not geriatric garbage. We should be grateful

Yeah according to you. If I count in both US and UK albums ABB ends as my #8. It's even higher if I don't count both UK and US....

Well, Mr Keefstheman,have you listened to the Dolls new cd?
If you have and you don't like it, its ok.
but your statement" the dolls have never done anything that comes even close to the weakest stones efforts" is kind of narrow minded. Yes the stones have recorded some great music but also have done shit(some of the stuff in abb is in that category, sol,biggest mistake,sweet neocon).
Do youself a favor and listen to other bands you may be surprise as to how much great music its out there.
Also the dolls have more credibility opening for the Stones than say, tragically hip,jos stone,dave mathews,and lets not forget trey anastasio, and finally Kanye West.
