Hope he's okay:

Dio's European tour has been cancelled after Ronnie was taken ill. "Ronnie has been hospitalized and we are waiting for further news," explains Ronnie's wife/manager, Wendy Dio. No further information is available at this time.

hey, he's another 67 year old rocker who defies age who's totally and genuinely true to what he does--if you think he's not worth an OT, I'd refer you to a dozen fawning springsteen/u2 posts that few seem to gripe about

Don't take offense, Baboon Bro. I checked phillipm's forum content. The guy is a typical drive-by troll. Not worth getting upset over it.

Sure ya right, Bassplayer smiling smiley. Just in case I told my meaning.
Will never answer that troll again. Thanks for your research!

Maybe some of us fawn over U2 and Springsteen, because unlike Dio they actually have talent. But I hope the dude's ok.

"because unlike Dio they actually have talent."

that's totally subjective--and ignorant, too

U2, Springsteen, Dio--they all have talent or they wouldn't be where they are--that doesn't happen by luck--whether you like it or not is a different story--

one thing you can say for Dio - he never got his teeth capped, a hair piece, and he never adopted a "hick" accent at 40 years of age while still living in NJ -

springsteen geeks unite - I feel it coming smiling smiley

Can't remember the last time RJD did a 3 hr show that included one of the greatest albums in history in it's entirety, while taking requests out of the audience and doing a high energy show with a kick ass band with material comprising a 30 yr career....But I'm sure it's coming.

Even though I dislike RJ Dio's vocals, I don't wish ill upon him. Anyone who does so is exhibiting unwarranted hatred. Sure, it's easy to do in this format, but it's no excuse for antisocial hate-mongering. It is un-needed and unwelcome on this forum.

What about Stone's old bad habits ??
Anyway, Dio, U2 , Bruce and Stones, all they are really GREAT (and Kiss's new album Sonic Boom)

Ronnie James Dio is a legend. I have seen him many times live. His vocal range is awesome - totally unique in the world of rock, almost operatic. Listen to Long Live Rock and Roll, Don't talk to strangers, Mob Rules..any of them. I accept it may not be to everyones taste, but to kick the guy when he's down (as some here have done) is disgusting.
We seem to keep having debates about what is offensive, and what should be banned.I think slagging a singer who is in hospital is beyond the pale. Some people should be ashamed of themselves.
