What is your guess? I think they did not sell too good this summer and had to cancel many gigs. Maybe they wont tour again after this year - it is just getting too expensive for everyone.

I'd say its 50/50 - but if it happens, some of the shows may be in arenas

The dilemma is any moral obligation they feel they have to the several hundred thousand people they let down vs whether or not the Stones can be bothered to even get out of bed to work unless someone waves a large anough cheque in their faces.

I hope they will play at "smaller" places, like Bergen. It's guaranteed sell-outs in minutes.

NOT A CHANCE . They will NEVER play Europe again. Not enough money in it.

Keith's got more and more difficulties in playing two hours;
Ronnie's addictions won't let hom tour again;
Mick? He's the only one in good shape but can't tour alone as RS

If they won't play Europe again, I will be very sad.
What about all the fans in East Europe, Spain, Greece, Sweden, Finland ?
More than 70 shows in the US and only 21 for Europe ?
That's a little bit unfair.
I hope for some indoor shows in spring/ summer 2007.
We have some good arenas, too.
Madrid, Barcelona, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Gelsenkirchen (indoor stadium), Zürich, Athens, Bologna, Bercy, Cologne, Munich, Prague, Budapest, Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm, Göteborg...

maybe not in 3-5 years for the reasons youve stated, but a return to Europe like what people are suggesting is only about 5-6 months after their current return to North (and South) America ends. 20 or so shows in about six weeks next spring/summer is hardly going to kill them

Because they will do the rest of Europe summer 2007. More time for great shows in big cities. The fall tour has been planned for a long time. If you get sick in the fall and you can't pick the apples on the apple trees then it's not like you can pick them in November. Plans, people, venues, contracts, summerime Europe, weather. Many reasons. Don't cry like spoiled kids. Why don't you just look forward more more shows to come?

The mini European tour is far from over, two thirds to go...So why don't we enjoy the rest of the tour and then we can worry if the're coming back or not.

I principle, you're right but remember that Charlie quoted that 2006 is gonna be the ast year he's touring. Think about it: why did they add US dates? For last touring money ... why are they about to add South American dates? For the last loud cheering ...

Where did he say that? I have not seen that in writing anywhere. Just some tabloid who wrote that, I think.

I still havent seen that quote in print or heard it anywhere. As far as Im concerned, its hearsay and idle gossip, until proven otherwise. And I can recall several "never again" interviews in the past where hes been quoted as saying such things on previous tours.

Plus, the alleged 'quote' comes from before Keith had his accident and would have been at a time when the Stones' original plans for this tour were NOT to extend it beyond 2006. Theyve had several postponements since then

I thought they would stop at the end of the year. Until Mick said "until the next time" in Paris. This phrase and the rumours of a 2007 tour from some big shots put me in doubt again.

A positive factor might come as well from a disappointing US tour this fall. If audience is not there due to mad prices ( discount prices for student !!! It's one of the dumbiest thing I have ever heard of. And why not one for the GM or Ford employee ? Mr. Cohl should think of a ticket price prorated with each one's revenue !!! ), they might come back to Europe with competitive prices to replenish their cash.

The Stones will be back and play in Europe in 2007. Maybe not so many shows, but they will. Now they have successfully set a new standard for ticket prices to their shows, so there will be a pressure on them to return.

With these ticket prices they won't sell a single show in Europe 07! People here are really sick of this price politcs!

Is there a demand for yet another tour? Maybe in Barcelona, Madrid,...but again in Germany, Holland, GB (ok Wembley maybe)

They could comfortably reschedule and re-sell most of the shows that were cancelled in 2006, add a couple more in their stronger markets (London, Scandinavia), play a couple in germany which wouldnt have the World Cup as an alternative market and throw in a few arena shows. Hey presto, you could end up with a 20-date tour which would be much the same length as this summer's one.

And hopefully theyve learned a few hard lessons from the slow sales in Europe AND America that you cant saturate markets AND expect people to pay through the nose en masse

I personally would prefer a show where I could be much closer..... fx. in arena for 5.000 people.....

It would give a another and much better atmosphere. They could focus on the music, the closeness to the fans / audience - less focus on the stage....

They can also easily book another Paris date after the fanstatic show we experienced provided they put it in June, beginning July or September. Friday the 28th of July was the worst date on the calendar, but they made it in the manner you know : royal.

Getting the Stones to take a HUGE ego-check and be less concerned with topping the annual "highest gross" charts is the issue. I'm not so convinced that at this stage in their careers theyre sufficiently motivated to do that and to focus primarily on the music instead

If their audience is starting to vote with their wallets and stay at home, that leaves the band with a dilemma that theyve never had to face before as until now theyve been so used to having huge amounts of people run to buy tickets and fill stadiums regardless. if the bottom falls out of the market, its probably more likely that they'll reach the conclusion that theyve milked things as much as they can and simply not bother. Theyre very quick to cancel shows that arent selling as well as theyd like and invent some absurd reason for doing so in order to preserve their ego, so I cant see them wanting to bother touring if the cheque isnt big enough for them.

Please explain why it is so dumb.
It is a good thing to make tickets cheaper for young people who want to see the Stones and ticket prices are too high. Very good idea, in my opinion.

As we often find ourselves discussing these days, the "boys" aren't getting any younger... and aren't letting many years elapse between behemoth tours.
It does rather feel like the ABB tour is running almost back to back with Licks for some folks I suspect.

I did say at the time the bigger bang tour was rumoured how soon they was touring again, unlike the stones imho.
