Most Underrated Songs?

One of my faves is The Singer Not The Song for its charm. Falsetto Keith at the end and out of tune 12-string. I love it.

Mick's solo work; eg, Just Another Night, Lonely at the Top, Angel in my Heart, Hard Woman.

Flame away!

Just Another Night is a good tune...

Totally agree, 71Tele. The Singer Not The Song is excellent and, in fact, I consider a classic, warts and all.

Another underrated classic: Sad Day. Rare B-side that's absolutely excellent in terms of feel, groove, production values, and lyrics.

Scaffer, that's great! I always thought of Sad Day as sort of a complement to Singer Not The Song. That whole period where Mick & Keith were writing pure pop songs was a lot of fun.

Yes, Sad Day is a great song and definitely one of the most underrated Stones tunes. It was somewhat ahead of its time for late 1965 with its folksy-psychedelic sound. There's something about the Stones' music in 1965 that is classic and timeless. It was a great year for them with hits like Satisfaction, the Last Time and Cloud. But it's hidden gems like Down Home Girl, I'm Free, Singer Not the Song, Blue Turns To Grey, and Sad Day that make the Stones stand out.

That 12 string's got to be a Ric, played by Brian Jones.

You think so, Neptune? I always heard a 12-string acoustic. I'll have to listen again.

Defintely one of the underrated songs . Has the best Mick Taylor solo and the gospel influence of Billy Preston .And when Keith comes in on the backup harmony "and I really want to understand you baby " Great song !!

I also have to second 100 Years Ago. I love the very melancholy mood, Billy's keyboards, Taylor's solo, and Jagger's LYRICS (they actually conveyed feeling).

First of all ,underrated? I am a Stonesfan, just by exammple Fancy Man Blues.I played for many years in different bands and none of the drummers could play it like Charlie.(They make too much breaks, fills, etc.)And to me the way Charlie plays the drums, only the snare and bassdrum}is ART.
