If you met Keith...

OK - the chances for this to happen is next to ZERO for 99,999% of us. But still. What would you say to the man if you suddenly found yourself in an elevator with him - just the two of you. I'm afraid I would just stand there like a freaking idiot. But if I had one of my approximately 10 copies of Exile in my bag (play it in the car, PC, portable CD etc - so it's probably in my hand bag), I just hope I would have the guts to say something like: Would you be so kind as to sign this masterpiece for me?

Did you ever see that SNL skit where Chris Farley interviewed Paul Mc Cartney? Thats what I would be like if I met one of the stones.

That's a good one! But I'm too shy. Probably - I'd just reach for the box of really fat weed in the hand bag and just give it to him, and drop dead.

Can I buy you a drink - there are so many things I'd love to tell you! And then- when he's getting out of the elevator 10 floors before he planned to... I'll just say - Than's for the music - for the golden moments - for the shows - and for probably saving my life. But he will not be able to hear that - since he ran away...

Maybe something like "nice weather outside, isn't it?". And he'd be like "what the.. he doesn't know me?! I'll show him something!!" and he'll take me to his hotel room and we'd be jammin' all night long!!

"I'm not worthy" grinning smiley

No, I'd just say thanks and shake his hand. Unless we end up stuck in an elevator, then we'd have time to talk.

I think it's the only way to go about it! Plus, I don't want to lose such an opportunity just cause "I didn't ask"...!

StonesTod, it takes a brave man to admit that. I admire you for your honesty.

There was another thread recently where I tried to get some of the men on here to admit that, but I had no takers.

I was lucky enough to be able to meet Keith on 3 occasions between June 2004 and June 2005 here in Los Angeles. The first 2 occasions were where he quickly signed an autograph for me while entering the Wiltern in June 2004 for rehearsals for the show he did with Willie Nelson and signing another for me in July 2004 while leaving after the Gram Parsons tribute concert.

In June 2005 I was able to meet both Mick and Keith while they were here mixing A Bigger Bang. On this occasion, a friend and I were the only ones there and we had a chance to chat a little bit with Keith and we each got 4-5 items signed and a photo with him. He was extremely nice to us and was very coherent and with it while he talked with us. He was not at all speaking in the kind of slurred fashion that he frequently does in interviews. I think by this point, as excited as I was with this encounter, because of my previous encounters, it was all very natural to just talk to Keith without any nerves.

Lucky guy. But in some ways, I don't know if I would like to "meet " him. Attend a rehearsal , yes obviously. But talk , not sure. Afraid to be disappointed. But have a chat with Charlie or Bill would have me take the plane right on.

I would go into the trap many fans do, and tell him how much I love his music and so on. (He must have heard that a thousand times)
I don't think I would be able to come up with anything else.
And of course I'd ask for a photo of him and me.

But if I met him underneath a tree (like a coconut tree), I'd say:"First one to the top!" And maybe that would loose it up a bit.

This might be embarrassing but I'd thank him for bringing the Wingless Angels record to the world's attention, because it's one of my faves. And I'd ask him how those of them are doing, who are still around. If this gets a talk going, if he was doing some more reggae stuff at the time.
