My ultimate Stones 10 dvd box set
2 discs of tv appearances
1 disc of videos
1 disc L&G
1 disc CS Blues
2 disc Knebworth/paris 76
1 disc Dallas/New Orleans 78
2 disc Lets STNT/ hampton 81
And as a Best Buy/ Starbucks bonus the Macombo 77 cds!!!
Yes I've broken up with my girlfriend, drank a bottle(or 2) of wine, dream of winning the lottery and am generally delusional right now. It's always fun to dream ( of Muttjacks, Beely haha). Leonard K where are you!

This is a great box set!!! But, I would substitute something for CS Blues; except for the concert excerpts, I found it remarkably uninteresting.

I wouldn't! There's hardly any stuff from 1982 'till today. And there's lots of show from the latter days that outrock Knebworth '76, Dallas/NO '78 and the 1981 shows....

mine would be 10 DVD's of stuff I didnt already own. What shows it would cover would be irrelevant

however, I sure as hell wouldnt spend $200-300 on it. Considering the fact that Four Flicks, a 4 disc set, was officially available in the US for a tenth of that price, you'd be quite a mug to pay that kind of money for it

Yes F*****G way. :-D
Voodoo in Buenos Aires, Steel Wheels Through Tokyo and especially Nippon Voodoo are better in my opinion.

But, as the graham parker song goes, "Christmas is for mugs!" And that's probably the "season" it would be released.

$200-300 is more than I would pay, but it makes more sense than $40 for a t-shirt.

Nope. They were very rock 'n roll in the seventies, too sloppy for the most part of the Still Life Tour. Steel Wheels was WAY too pÄolished, but the VL tour was the best from the 2 worlds. Very rock 'n roll and VERY top tuned (Especially the 95 shows).

the '95 shows are very good, but as a performance I think the VL Tokyo show is a very flat show, and by some distance the weakest of the TV concerts from that era

The VL shows were indeed very good....I saw them 10 times I think on that tour...and there wasnot one bad show...that said the 82 shows I went to..had less diversity..and sloppy...but what a exitement...even more than the VL shows. But thats just my feeling.

yep..and I'm someone whos rarely disappointed in a Tv broadcast. I just find it a very jaded performance

Now, the Rio show from the previous month by contrast is a real monster. Worth getting just for the version of 'Midnight Rambler' where, during the slow middle part of the song, Keith pulls what might well be the most frightening facial expression I've ever seen....

Seeing the Stones on stage in the 70's doesn't excite me a bit. That's why I probably wouldn't spend a lot on it. I just love stages like skyscrapers, they're better looking than upright corpses. And I don't hail music for its sloppiness either, so my preference goes to more recent shows from '89 onwards, with '81 as a highly enjoyable transition period.
