Anyone having a worse start to the tour?
Posted by: tonym ()
Date: May 23, 2006 19:47

My two mates and I will be in Barcelona on Saturday before flying back to the UK and catching Eurostar to Brussels on Thursday then catching a train to Paris for the Saturday then Eurostar back to London on Sunday. All my travel and hotels were paid for so I've got no choice but to travel. Had FOS for each of the three gigs.

oh come on, those are good cities. it's not like you have unrefunadble tickets Columbus, OH, Milwaukee, and Omaha.

I also have FOS for these three, but some friends of mine have FOS for all FOUR. Actually it can become much worse than this....

Agreed - we're going to have a great time and it's worth keeping a sense of perspective! Just wondered if anyone was in a similar situation to us.

Look forward that is my advice. What is done is done. I have seen many shows and I have had many cancellations over the years but I never look back.

I agree with that BV - I'm of course disappointed but the main thing is the band get back on the road.

Agree with that BV - still it's not the right way to deal with a situation like this - it's not professional.

Would have to agree with that. The best most of us can do regarding flights/hotels is cancel or change the date of whatever we can to try and minimise the financial loss. It hurts, but there ain't nothin' else to be done to be quite honest.

bv,

i think the most of us can not be as relaxed as you are.

just to make it clear "we are loosing money". if this is not so important for you, well that's o.k. for you; but there are a lot of other who have to care a little bit more.

is this really so hard to understand or is this just ignorance?

Brüsse will be postponed,

But If GERMANY win the Soccer WORLD CUP in July 2006
and STONES will play after World Cup Final (09. July) in
Germany and Belgium and Netherlands and France and ..............
then ALL IS GOOD.

Gerhard

See You All FOS in Köln, and ????????

I just LIKE the title of you thread....very nice.... :-) Thumbs up. I sit her listening to a lot of the very old stuff (60s) almost crying about the Stones NOT coming to Horsens on June 8

The only reason this summer for Barcelona, Madrid, Bruxelles, Paris,Bergen and Goteborg was the Stones. I would not have tight up so many cities in one go.
I take it easy, but I am very disappointed that there is still no real statement about whats off. If they would say ok June is off it would be fine. But promises so short before the start is very bad.

I was discussing this with my wife last night. We went to Europe in 2003 for the France and Spain shows. We had not planned to do Europe this year but I said "can you imagine this predicament with Keith.... would we have still gone"? The room went tense and her voice got louder and she said "of course we would; we would not miss all those great places". I said "but we were going to see the Stones". At which she replied "YOU were going there to see the Stones, I was going for a vacation". :>)

They'll happen for sure.
They won't disappear from the calendar.
It's not the end of the world.
Yet.....

...ok, that was an evil remark, and I owe you a beer in Barcelona if we meet : )

they wont give you a credit or anything ??? what about the hotels, most hotels cancelation policy is 48 hours before reservation... and you will get the $$ back for the tiks if the show is off...

i dont understand, even non-refundable plane tiks if you dont fly you can use the price of the tik as a credit towards another flight...

whatever, it just sucks i know...

So you are wearing a Stones shirt on Saturday? ;-)

Guess so...and I'll be walking very slowly ( or not normal anyway ) due to a minor leg-injury. Placa Reial was the place to meet, right ? Place del Pi and Placa de Sant J. Oriol in Barri Gotic could also be places where you could get your free beer while my wife and daughter are "running".....but then you shouldn't spot a slowly walking Stones-fan. Just a lonely one....

Minor leg injury...from climbing a .....tree?

We will look out for you and then we´ll have a Batida de Coco!
I´m wearing my Licks Parisiennes shirt.

smiling smiley - bicycle-accident....much much luckier fall than Keith's. Could have ended up much worse : cancellation of whole Euro-tour. Quite ironic. Don't even know if I had managed to be FOS in Barcelona.....will be wearing Stockholm-licks - or Exile-cover shirt.

I agree with BV Look forward. Life is like golf, every bad shot is behind you, everything else is in front, and that is all that counts.

I am looking forward to meeting Madrid on sunday, without the Stones!

If nothing else it is 20 degrees warmer than uk!!

Travel insurance is great! Especially when planning around old rock n' rollers!
