ok enough 2010

so i flipped on q107 in toronto yesterday afternoon and kim mitchell was saying something mid sentence... it sound like

"so it does look like the stones are touring in 2010." but i missed the context of it.

he then played a clip from a keith richards interview (couldn't tell if it was new or not) where keith talks about the fact that nobody slagged muddy or howlin wolf or duke elington about playing until they died, so why does everyone slag the stones for still playing'?

kim mitchel was actually very defensive on the stone's behalf (which is rare for someone in the media, perfect time to make old man jokes).

just curious if anyone else caught this of knows more?

- be good-

Didn't catch it, but Q seems to have flipped from a Led Zep station to solidly favouring the Stones. I've heard a lot of stuff in the last 2 years that is not from the usual play lists. (Of course, they also sent me to NYC for the Shine a Light press conference and movie preview, and a little One on Four action... but what have they done for me lately? grinning smiley )

Blimey Q107! did it used to be subtitled 'The Bone'or is that another station?

I lived in toronto ten years ago, before coming back to the UK, and was totally blown away by the radio stations out there. Just the general rock radio stations you could get in North America blew my mind.

Coming from the UK, we have the crappiest music stations known to man, never in my life have I ever listened to a Britsh FM radio station, all crap. But living over there it was so awesome to turn on a radio and be able to listen to rock music all day.

'Course, lot of that has changed now, DAB radios and internet station etc have made it possible to listen to specialist radio station like never before, but Q107 will always have a special place in my heart! hahaaa

Oh, yeah. 2010 - I'm getting resltess and surging with the urging to know whats gonna happen. Man, hope we get some more info soon, can start putting together my game plan. Bring it on, and let's roll along.

ROCK ON

The Stones stand head and shoulders above everyone else in the business now, and for the last 40-plus years.

When you're on top, everyone wants to cut you down.

Still nothing official. NOTHING! All speculation based on something Ronnie said.

Which we all know is just his usual crap.

i spent some summers in late 70s and early 80s in scotland and enjoyed all those BBC channels. you had songs on the radio that we never heard here in the US. ex. the cure "the walk".

i'm trying to convince my mom to get her hip replacement done now so she doesn't have to go under the knife next year (which means I wouldn't be able to tour!!).

It would be nice if I could treat myself to some Stones tickets for Christmas. But I guess Christmas comes too early for that now.
Immagine: tickets for 3 concerts in the Royal Albert Hall and 2 for the Arena in Verona

If I remember right, they usually do a pretty good job of keeping everything quiet until just a few days before the official announcement.

If and when that time comes, it's all hearsay.

Hmmm, really not sure about all this. I absolutely love the Stones but I just don't know if Keith can sustain another tour of the same dimension. An old geezer perched on a stool playing his guitar in a pub is quite feasible. 2 hours a night, however, of high energy on a huge stage in front of thousands of people, as one enters one's late sixties, is another matter entirely and I just don't think he'll be able to manage it - something it makes me very sad to say. Add to that the fact that ticket prices will doubtless be extremely high and I find my enthusiam levels falling - and I'm a huge fan.

Can't be that much of a fan if you don't want to see tham again! yes their in their late 60's, that makes it quite exciting to see what they can do. Look at Mick last week, no different to how he was on the last tour.

All speculation about the tour can now end. I met Mick in my dream last night. He offered to sign for me and i turned it down stating I already had his autograph (which I don't have!). So I ask him whether you guys are gonna tour next year and come back to Helsinki. He smiled and nodded.
