Let me know about Micks harp playing. Like what type of harmonicas does he play and does he like to play in the same key of the song or the third or fifth?

he plays cross harp; he talks about it a bit on that fanclub DVD, so you might want to check that out.
there was just recently a thread about it on shidoobee ... ah yeah, here it is:

the one Mick gave to that lady on the shidoobee thread is a Lee Oskar -
and that just about exhausts my store of factoids about Mick's harps.

Thanks Miss Soul, that thread was a great help. Funny to see Mathijs even eloborating on blues harps! Going to look up my harps and start playing again!

I love it when he sings through the harp and its amp (live MR, also on some tracks of Jamming With Edwards). Same thing for Robert Plant in LZ's "Bring It On Home"... "Hats Off to Roy Harper"?).
Is this a very special technique, requiring special "chops"?

That echo-ey singing is generally due to the high amount of reverb on the harmonica amp...I do it all the time. The best sound is with the Sure 520 (the old 50's version of the Green bullet microphone), but the Ecstatic bullet is nearly as good. Crank the reverb, and go nuts...

From the thread on shidoobee it sounds like he tends to play the forth except on a major where he then plays the key. Thanks to all for your help,as always you've been a great help.
