Yes. This is exactly what happened when the missus and I saw Neil Young in Calgary...damn, a year ago yesterday! (Time does indeed fade away...) We'd left our stash of non-Californian non-medicinal maryjane in the glove box of the truck, thinking we'd be searched. The 17 year old kid at the doors checked our tickets and we walked right in; I could have had an ounce and a ten grand taping/filming rig and they never woulda known! But, once the show started, the young girls sitting in the row in front of us kept sparking up and the little old lady doing security in our section kept coming up and busting them, taking the roach, etc. Yet she completely ignored the cans of Kokanee (a bad Canadian beer) that the girls obviously brought in with them. Go figure.
Again, time fades away: I'm pretty sure when I first saw the Stones at the Kingdome in '81 it looked pretty much like that haze hanging over the audience a couple of pictures above. Sure wasn't fog machines or dry ice...

But to seriously answer your question, and to possibly save my ass from the wrath of Sway, local laws are different across the country.
Where I live, you can buy alcohol 24/7 at almost any corner store in the city.
You can also drink on the streets as long as it is not in a glass or metal container.
Talk about your favorite band.

Obama is cracking down on Coke now. No, not the drug, the soda because it makes you fat. The loss of liberty and personal freedoms is staggering. He'll probably ban hot dogs at arenas next, unless of course they are organically grown or "medicinal".

I was surprised to hear about the legalization of marijuana in California since A.Schwarzenegger is a republican.California is the state the most debt if I am not mistaken .Could it be in relation with that ?

Marijuana is almost 100% LEGAL - free and clear - in California TODAY (Finally !!!). What's the deal exactly? The feds (US Federal Government) have been told to lay off Marijuana shops and shoppers/users in California. Huh ?? (what you say Helter !?!?!) ? Well, the deal is , MEDICAL MARIJUANA is legal under state law but illegal under Federal law (Very Confusing and complicated).
In California, if one receives a note from a Doctor saying he recommends Marijuana for ANY medical reasons (Glaucoma, Anxiety problems, effects from Chemo treatment for Cancer victims, etc) than one goes to a "dispensary shop", and picks up their Marijuana. Different levels of strength and quality are sold at these "Pot Shops". There are now more "Pot Shops" in California than STARBUCKS COFFEE HOUSES or McDONALDS !!! Fedral agents have been told there are more important things (terrorism, violent crime, etc) to focus on... Good thinking for a change, Bravo !! Keep the Macho Fed Agents away FROM US !!!
There are 14 states that allow Medical Marijuana but California is by far the most liberal, most advanced with dispensaries, etc. They are now working at legalizing it 100% ASAP !! Here are the other 13 states: Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Alaska, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine, Michigan, maryland, Montana. One last point. I personally don't use Marijuana, haven't for decades cause it never did much for me but I am very happy people have the FREEDOM OF CHOICE as they should. Helter - So what do you think? By the way, Pot and Rock music are TOTALLY intertwined so this is not so off topic.

League Office thinks drugs should be decriminalized. The American "Prison System" is making a fortune out of folks whom are simply minding their own business. It is disgusting to read newspaper reports of some arrested for "possession" and facing an actual prison sentence versus a Drunk driver who has killed someone that must only do Communnity Service. L.O. has serious doubts concerning the USA criminal justice system.
