McCartney's Take on Stones Doing Superbowl

Here's an article I found...enjoy!!! ugh!

Paul McCartney is amused that the Rolling Stones are playing the Super Bowl XL halftime show on Sunday (February 5th) in Detroit, one year after McCartney did the same for Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Florida. McCartney told us that, the way he sees it, the Stones have always followed the Beatles' lead: "It's not bitchy, but if you look at the career of the Beatles and the Stones, they always do stuff a year after we do. So we do Sgt. Pepper and about a year later they do Satanic Majesties, they do their psychedelic album. The Beatles come to America, about a year later the Stones do. So I like it. They're holding true to form."

McCartney didn't want to take the Stones to task too much, however: "It's all a bit of fun, really, you know, that's the main thing. As long as everyone's enjoying themselves, and the audiences are, so it's good enough for me."

Just read a bit in the news about the half-time organizer at Super Bowl - he says the Stones are the only artists who will NOT be using a tape back-up on sunday's show - and if I read correctly, they will be the first artists at the half time show to EVER do it completely live.

...And the Stones didn't release their "Anthology" series in 1997

...Too bad they didn't "follow in the Beatles' footsteps" on that one!

LOL, he's really pathetic.
"they always do stuff a year after we do." In the sixties, maybe, darling.
Who is this "we" in the qoute, anyway? I mean now.

Oh yes, ever since the sixties, until now, the Stones have been copying The Beatles and The Beatles are still the greatest band. Sure.

And Mick didn't marry a simiilar stupid (gold digger) like Heather Mills...

Rolling Stones didn't record stupid songs like say, say; Mull of Kintyre, Ebony and Ivory.....

and so forth.......

Paul is just jealous of the way he ended.....

Paul has been like that ever since the 60'ies - Stones covering Beatles.... what was the Beatles inspiration to Honky Tonk Woman, Sympathy, Jumping Janck Flash, Brown Sugar, Satisfaction.... nothing, zero, just plain stupidity from a pop guy - a working calss stupid who became famous and tries to act snobbish, but in the deep button is just a poor working class stupid......

Spank me!! I've forgotten that one.

My sencere apologies!! How could I possibly forget?

But actually since Brian died before any of the Beatles... they were imitating the Stones. Dirty bastards!

Paul is really becoming a @#$%& joke! Dude, you're PAUL McCARTNEY! You were a Beatle. You're probably the most successful songwriter of all time. You're worth over a billion dollars. Why the hell are you so goddamn insecure?

Between him trying to revise history to compete with John, the songwriting credit changes (McCartney/Lennon, anyboyd?), and his constant attempts to belittle the Stones . . . it just smacks of desperation. It's pathetic!

Not only that, but he became a Yankees fan after 9/11. Don't even get me started on that one . . .

So McCartney himself actually thinks The Beatles are still together? That's pretty weird. "I AM THE BEATLES"

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

I think this is just one answer, out of 857,679,432, to the question: "why do you think the Stones is the greatest, the most precious and charismatic music act ever? How can still they rock the audiences?".
First of all, because the Stones is a TRUE music act.

PS gmanp, even if you didn't read correctly don't worry. I have other 857,679,431 answers to the same question...

All I can say is that Macca is being a bit of James about it.

James = James Blunt in cockney rhyming slang, Gazza I nicked that from you I hope you don't mind smiling smiley

The Stones will be 'live' OK, but the broadcast wont be - there will be a 5 second delay on it

That REALLY makes him look so BAD! I am surprised at the sour grapes but it shows he's very WORRIED that our boys will show him up! AND THEY WILL!

Let's just stop talking about the guy. He's pathetic. He's a typical @#$%&. I kind of understand though. Stones had a nr. 1 hit with Streets Of Love, they're tour is going great, they get the Superbowl gig, they're still alive and kicking. I mean, all his hippie friends are dead. He's on his own. He's lonely. Sure he has a band, but he hasn't got his mates to tour with. It's sad in a way, because you can't deny he's a skilled musician. But he's such an @#$%&.

Funny thing also. Mick said that they've been asked a few times before to do it. Maybe Paul was a second choice last year. Hey Paul; I'm glad The Stones never followed you when you did that stupid Silly Love Songs number and Ebony and Ivory. Did the Stones follow you when the only gig you could get was on a roof?

No offense meant, but McCartney's band lacks fame, but they are a real band. No waving to the crowd from his guitar players....they are too busy playing. If you haven't seem McCartney the previous two tours, you just can't imagine how good his current band is.
