Did anyone notice how Keith slowly kneeled with respect at the end of the song in Paris 22/OCT? Without looking at the crowd, he then stood up facing backstage and walked away?

I'd like to think he had a tough moment thinking about Anita (RIP) at that point - he was visibly touched.

Difficult to find in most of the youtube footage as most clips cut off before, but this one shows it from a distance at the very end of the clip.

It seems from this (further away) video [www.youtube.com] that he was already standing when he turned around.

I seem to recall that the line about Anita, wasn't anything to do with the song Angie, but from Happy, when Keith would occasionally sing 'Anita love to make me happy' Read this somewhere but can't remember where.

What I have heard/read is that Keith wrote the first two lines -- that would tell Mick where to do with the rest of the lyric.
Pretty sure it's about Anita. If so, he stayed with her long after he realized it was time to go. But I think his feelings for Anita were all tied up with his heroin use, so much so that he couldn't give up just one.
Also, I read that they were in different places during the writing of the song, that he called Mick up and played it for him, then sent him a cassette.
...
I don't think for a moment he doesn't care about singles. Three or fours years earlier than this he would have been heavily involved in a decision like which single to release, but by this point he was not well enough to take part in those discussions.

It probably isnt about any one specific woman. The Stones are more likely to write about people as 'composites' rather than about one individual.

Could also be entirely fictitious and not remotely based on anyone. They're writers. Its not exactly unusual. Mick and Keith have even wrote songs about their own relationship and done it in a way to make it look like its about a woman.

Very nice to see you posting here, Gazza. You all but disappeared some time ago!

You know that song "Angie"? It means
'Anita-I-Need-Ya'.
There's not many people who know that.
No, you're the only one. And that's good! Such a nonsense IMHO!

I read this somewhere too.

"No Anchovies, Please"
