Madonna and Mick...

So I was watching VH1 Classic the other day when Madonna's video for 'Borderline' came on (god does she look young). Anyway, it hit me that the chorus was suspiciously similar to Mick's 'Visions of Paradise'. Hmm..

Check out the short sound clip I made. You decide.

That is weird...

On a related note, has Madonna ever sung on stage with the Stones ? Or a duo with Mick ???

My choice for song for them to do together: Satisfaction.

Too bad the Material MILF didn't join them at MSG.

Remember that 'Sex' book she put out about 15 years ago? Some disturbing stuff in there. I think there's some pics of her getting down and dirty with that prick Vanilla Ice

Before she was famous. She was living in New York and used to hang out at Jagger's hotel hoping for a one-night stand. Apparently at one point she got her wish.

She asked Ian Astbury out & he said no. What a nerd!

..can't sing a note- can't dance- face like a bulldog chewing a wasp
the adoration she receives, has always baffled me.

That's a little harsh...

There's no question Madonna can DANCE, one of the greatest "front people" in music ever. Maybe she wouldn't make the Moscow Ballet but short of that she can dance her MILFy ass off... and probably wrote the single-greatest dance tune I can think of "Into the Groove".

Her face... well Keith's face ain't great either.... personally I like her face, but that's a matter of taste I suppose. Like any celebrity they doll her up, re-touch the photos, etc. etc.

Just curious what you think about the "rest" of her... boobs, ass, curves, legs etc. ?

As for singing... IMO she's got the right voice for the kind of "pop/dance" stuff she does. There's not a bad song on the Immaculate Collection album, my personal favorite. Just one mega-tune after the other. All dance-able to the extreme.

Right on Adrian- Madonna is a garbage pail. A piwce of trash. I heard one time during one of her concert someone yelled "hodown" and she laid on the floor.

Didn't they say something similar about Fred Astaire.

Say what you may about her, I'm hanging onto my mint Playboy & Penthouse mags with those nude photos of her.

Right on. But she can sell herself like she can do everything. And people buy it.
She surely knows marketing.

She can't write and act either.

Perhaps Mick the rock star did Madonna the groupie at the time.

But. Do you remember the story of Mick's dick, Madonna and Warren Beatty's house?

If you don't, I'll tell, if you want.

That's where Madonna fans are wrong. I can accept that they're fans, but they have to realize that it's not Madonna that is writing the songs. Take away the co-writer(s) and you're left with some lousy lyrics and a childish idea.

Madonna is a brand name.

Madonnas collaborations with Shep Petibone, Pat Leonard, and Stephen Bray particularly are awesome... the collaborators come and go but the one constant is Madonna herself...

You don't think she's working the song from the Live Arrangement point of view ?? From the first they start working on it, she's looking at it from how it has to be performed live, that's always been her input and why her gigs are such incredible shows. She's not a puppet that these collaborators have on a string.

Still impressed that Mick got a piece of this hairy MILF smiling smiley

Madonna once said in an interview that she would not end up like Jagger
running around on stage at age 50, i know she is not 50 yet but i will bet anything she performs at 50 and beyond, which makes her full of shit, they all say that

As there is a demand...

That happened once in the 80's while Madonna was seeing Beatty. Anyway, Warren is also a friend of Mick. So, one day Mick borrowed Beatty's house (in L.A.?) and wanted organize an intime birthday party (?) for Jerry Hall. So, Mick did all the arrangements, and especially planned a special surprise gift for Jerry, namely put some decorations around "lil' Mick" and warmed the thing "up". Then the door bell was ringing, and Mick went to open the door and to present his "surprire gift". Unfortunately (?!), there wasn't Jerry at the door but Madonna, who was going to visit Warren Beatty... Well, Madonna raported later to the press that he wasn't very impressed of "gift" at all, it wasn't so enermous at all... (anyway, if the older stories of Mick and Madonna are true, that wasn't any news for her!).

Go figure.

This is not a joke, but a true story from the fuzzy 80's, told by Madonna!

Well, Mick Jagger used to think - or at least say - that he will not end up like Jagger running around on stage at age 50...

Little they know - or perhaps they think (or used to think) that some day they will grow up and be matured or something. And finally they realize that they are not very good at anything else. And that's where the money is.

I think in many ways Mick and Madonna has a lot in common. Of course, at outlook, both of them are very charismatic and magnetic performers. But beside and behind that there is something more. First of all, both of them have absolutely great brains for the show business - and I don't consider neither of them VERY talented naturally (as dancers, musicians, singers, actors - as compared to MANY others). But they are VERY determinate and hungry for success, and with their brains they know how to accomplish that. Both are very sensitive for (the change of) trends; their difference and "art" is is based on sex and sexual appeal (and neither of them is VERY traditionally good looking but both are very confident with their physics), both are incredible narcisists, workaholics, opportunists... As persons they are apparently intellectual but both of them seem to be quite 'thin' and 'shallow' as far as I can judge; they are so transparent and I suppose there is nothing really interesting to be found in deep of their mind or thoughts (with his annoying religous bullshit Madonna is a discrace; Mick is never that hypocrite). And so on.

Perhaps Madonna is a female version of Mick Jagger. Perhaps Madonna is more Jagger than Mick ever was!
