Here are some pics of the Stones crew buses in Boston. There were like 40-or-so roadies staying in the same hotel I booked. Not a bad hotel, the Hyatt Regency in the financial district. I had for a very good bargain at $90 a night, tax included.
The brand of the buses is "Le Mirage XL II".
The buses bear on their side this motto "The road is forever and the party never ends".
Some pics were taken in the midday on Saturday, the other at 6 AM on Sunday with the snow. The crew was checking out to go to the Banknorth Garden, very early in the morning, to rebuild the stage which had been taken off Friday night after the show because of another event on Saturday. It was a bit unrealistic to watch all these guys in Stones clothes with big Stones bags checking out before dawn. "It is a good job", said one of them, when asked on how it feels to be on the road.
I was also lucky to have the Sunday nigh list, a gift from the sound engineer – as you can see, there was no soundcheck.
As for the shows, they were brilliant, better the previous ones I attended in Philadelphia in October. My only negative comment concern Sympathy for the Devil. It has turned into an empty song, it is a pity there is no more rhythmic guitar – the only attempt being RW at the end of KR solo. They should reshape it
