By contrast to other albums.. including S.G.. This seems to be Micks album that he played guitar on the most. Interesting to me. just thought I'd throw that out there for discussion

"Well my heavy throbbers itchin' just to lay a solid rhythm down"

And he came up w/ the majority off the riffs as well.. think keef was riffed out after pouring his heart out into t.i.c.

As my least favorite of all Stones albums, I can see your point. In my opinion, Killer riffs have never been MJ's strong point although he did have a few great ones on Wandering Spirit.

BTE: what is "t.i.c.?

I'm probably the only Stones fan in the world who loves this album.

No, count me in Stevecardi. But only the rough version. Steel Wheels booted is a great album. It's how they scrubbed and sterilized it before release that bothers me.

great cd , lots of different sounds.

Keith & mick collaborated together to do this cd

almost hear you sigh is a 100% Keith song, a leftover from talk is cheap that he saved for Jagger to sing, because he thought Mick would do a better job with the vocals

continental drift is a masterpiece

Me too - great songs fx. Hold on to your hat / almost hear you sigh.

They could use some songs on tour as well.

Yeah, Jagger never really came up with a good Stones riff at all, not like Keith's riff to Brown Suger.

Oh, wait...

"Almost Hear You Sigh" isn't 100% a Keith song. Jagger re-wrote the lyrics. Keith's stamp is on most tracks, but it is clearly a Jagger-dominated album just as the reverse is true of VOODOO LOUNGE. I would argue that Keith left more of a mark on STEEL WHEELS than A BIGGER BANG.

Mick can't riff???? Who came up with Brown Sugar?? I believe it was Sir Mick!

I think I saw it above just wanted to reiterate!

Mick is musically smarter than Keith (will ever) gives him credit for. As well as a lot of people.

I would also agree. keith is very stubborn musically. i give the credit to Mick for all of the different musical directions that they go in. Keith is a purist and working together and putting their musical differences together is what makes the Stones magic.

Even though some of Mick's ideas aren't exactly fantastic (Rain Fall Down, Streets Of Love, Sweet Neo Con just to name three) he does take chances, especially recently, and then some of Keith's ideas are, even though they are panned (Losing My Touch, Infamy, Thru And Thru), they're just so so.

However, it seems that when Keith writes for Mick we get The Rolling Stones (Almost Hear You Sigh, Flip The Switch, Love Is Strong, etc).

Oh! That's Chris Potter at the mixing desk, used to know him many years ago, knew he worked on this but never saw this before
