I saw this a while ago on a DVD, Keith making a move backward and hitting Ronnie in the face during a concert.
Does anyone remember which concert it is ????

Of course it wasn't made on purpose, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't on FF.
I'd say a Voodoo Lounge Tour show, but I don't have them all.

I think in the dim and distant past however, KR has actually hit RW extremely deliberately; a less than subtle way of telling him to get his s*** together pretty damm quick - when he was obviously playing really badly! I can't for the life of me recall where/when, but I'm sure it happened - or is it one of those "mythical stories" the likes of which we have all heard, and the true origin of which no-one has a clue about ?

i think it was in 1981 when ron had a pretty strong habbit going, and keith thought he was cheating on Jo, and he ran into his hotel room and punched him in the face.

Mick's done that on occasion too. Once in Oakland '99 and another time in Seattle, I think it was the B2B tour....

Legend has it that Keith slugged Ron in the face on stage during the '81 tour when Ron screwed up. The story, as related in "Old Gods..." has it that Keith forgot the chord changes, and Ron, zoning out, didn't cover him, so Keith clocked him in mid-song.

When I saw this thread, I assumed it was about Wembley 1982, when Keith forgot "She's So Cold".

the Wembley 82 story is just plain untrue. the tale goes that it was at the start of She's So Cold, when there was indeed a distinct screw-up - but footage from that show is in circulation now, and Keith doesn't hit anybody, and no one hits Ronnie (or even comes close to hitting Ronnie).

Nick Kent is apparently the one who started that story, and it's been repeated in elaborate and totally untrue detail by all kinds of writers. Jed Clever's post sounds like Old Gods has transferred the story to 81 - and i bet it didn't happen then either.

(on the other hand, i haven't seen any footage to disprove accounts that Keith has hit Ronnie offstage, more than once.)

Nick Kent. I was calling him Nick C*%t as far back as 1973 when he wrote for NME. Strangely enough I viewed his ugly mug just last night when I watched the video of some pile of crap shown on Channel 4 yonks ago. (Just after Urban Jungle tour I think.) He was slagging off the Stones in it. Now I'm not just sore with him because he slags of the Stones but he has no integrity whatsoever. He turns up on these programmes as some paid rentagob who'll say whatever he's briefed to.

None of these episodes is as good as Watts popping Jagger in a hotel (Amsterdam I think). One of my favorite Stones stories. Charlie got out of bed, shaved, showered, put on one of his tailored suits AND THEN went after Mick. What a character.

I read an article where Keith attempted to run Ronnie over while he was mowing his lawn at Redlands on his new John Deere. Ronnie was chasing Keith's schnauzer around whilst drinking a Guinness. Ronm spilled the beer but avoided injury.

theres some doubt as to whether Keith's recollection of that story is fact, myth or exaggeration

If its true, its a personal favourite of mine, I have to admit. I love the fact that he took the trouble to ensure he was shaved, showered and immaculately dressed first before doing anything. Any normal person would have calmed down sufficiently after all of that.

I don't remember exactly what happened, but I'm pretty sure they messed up the intro to a number so badly they had to stop and start again from the top. I seem to recall Keith kicking Ronnie up the backside...
