OT: Janis Died 39 Years Ago
Date: October 3, 2009 19:42

In the early hours of 4/10/70. Mimi Farina wrote "In the Quiet Morning" for her. I still miss Janis.

Is there some special significance to a 39th anniversary? Let's talk about this next year.

I think of Janis fairly often.
Imagine those years 1969-71.. So much losses for rock music...

Yes, let's talk about Ronnie's hair, Keith's nose, Mick's hair. That's far more intersting to you, isn't it? >grinning smiley<

I agree. And Janis was a legend that shouldn't only be missed or talked about every 10 years thereafter.

Well, the 39th year is the END of that time, so it actually is forty.

Well, for birthdays anyway.

Yeah and unfortunately, there was a particularly bad batch of H going around the circles at that time, with quite a few street casualties. Very sad! I love her music and one of the unique voices of rock from a woman. Pearl was probably her best disc, finally with a band that could hear her visions.

Some things don't add up. Why was she holding the $4.50 from the cigs she purchased when she returned to her room & undressed into her nightie? Who removed the drugs from the room & replaced them?

Somebody else was there & people know lots more than they're telling, if they're still alive.
