I realise theyre slow songs as well (although 'Thief' has more of a groove to it, its not a SLOW ballad) but I've never heard a song on ANY show cause such a mass exodus as that one. The recording of the show is actually pretty good, but you can barely HEAR Keith singing in the background because of the noise and chatter of thousands of people in the arena getting up and moving en masse.
Of course, Nearness of You wasnt played in the US (as you say). It probably would have got the same reaction had they done so.
