Red hot Indian Summer in Mid-Sweden...

Yet with the settin evenin sun a growing problem is gettin bigger....

- What shall I burn? Suggestions, please. 2 cd´s, best of the Stones.

...Please not too many obscure boots.
The dude is 40, recently became a grandpa,
he was the first punker in his town
(North from the Arctic circle), now a
theater director & a heavy poet...

first..."get yer ya yas out" to introduce him to their live excellence and rawness....then for the studio..."hot rocks"....to give him a nice overview of their studio work from their jones-taylor era...best wishes

Hey, BB,

Since he's near 40, I'd use most of Hot Rocks with a few obscure gems mixed in -

Out Of Time
The Last Time
Can't You Hear Me Knockin'

Or even pick 4 or 5 from ABB. I know you really dig the new CD. BB, I'm sure you'll make some great choices.

P. S. Stones in Atlanta October 15. I'm geeked up already!!!

What 4-5 would you choose, Elmo; from ABB? From Exile?
Oct 15... I´ll see Wyman the 17th.
I could change life with you for three days.
But I guess Bill is a decent substitute.
And in 8 months they´re here... grinning smiley

Looks like that 2 cd set just became a 3 cd set, hmmm?

Alternatively, you could go with the royal flush of

Tumbling Dice
Sweet Virginia
Torn and Frayed
Sweet Black Angel, &
Loving Cup

Hard to beat a hand like that. And you could add Happy as a closer.

Yup; thanxz, Camper.

Thank you everybody sofar.
Yeh... Hmmm... 3 cd´s seems to be the case here.
Someone burnt a 3 cd-starter package for me some 18 months ago;
with 2 cd´s plus Exile. And that was before aBB... 3½ cd?

Huh?! These days, forty years old means that he was sixteen and in his prime rock'n'roll listening moment when "Start Me Up" came out--not "Satisfaction." Or is that what you meant--that this would be an opportunity to introduce him to older stuff? Sorry, Elmo, if I misinterpreted...

Anyway,

DISC I

1. "Take The "A" Train"/"Under My Thumb" from "Still Life"
2. "Not Fade Away" from "Stripped"
3. "Route 66" from "England's Newest Hitmakers"
4. "Shake Your Hips" from "Exile On Main Street"
5. "@#$%&" from "Goat's Head Soup"
6. "Slave" from "Tattoo You"
7. "Sweet Black Angel" from "Exile"
8. "No Expectations" from "Beggar's Banquet"
9. "Lady Jane" from "Aftermath"
10. "Time Waits For No One" from "It's Only Rock'n'Roll"
11. "Just My Imagination" from "Some Girls"
12. "Let Me Down Slow" from "A Bigger Bang"
13. "Parachute Woman" from "Rock'n'Roll Circus"
14. "Let It Bleed" from "Let It Bleed"
15. "Till The Next Goodbye" from "It's Only..."

DISC II

1. "Rough Justice" from "A Bigger Bang"
2. "Turd On The Run" from "Exile on Main Street"
3. "Had It With You" from "Dirty Work"
4. "Back Of My Hand" from "A Bigger Bang"
5. "Out of Control" from "Bridges To Babylon"
6. "Terrifying" from "Steel Wheels"
7. "She Was Hot" from "Undercover"
8. "Rain Fell Down" from "A Bigger Bang"
9. "Winter" from "Goat's Head Soup"
10. "You Got The Silver" from "Let It Bleed"
11. "Dead Flowers" from "Sticky Fingers"
12. "Prodigal Son" from "Beggar's Banquet"
13. "Little Red Rooster" from "Love You Live"
14. "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" from "Sticky Fingers"
15. "How Can I Stop" from "Bridges To Babylon"

Let the radio or compilations or whatever give him the obvious stuff--it's so much fun to see how people's minds are blown when they are exposed to great Stones stuff that they have never heard...

Sounds like he's a good enough man to appreciate only the very best.

Send him Handsome Girls, Disc One.

If you don't have it, shame on you.

"Let me go"
"Respectable"
"She's so cold"
could be considered for more tempo.

I used to love 'em when I was into punk

BB,

From Exile I'd choose these today -

Rocks Off
Shine A Light
Torn and Frayed
Loving Cup
Sweet Virginia

Bang -

Dangerous Beauty
She Saw Me Coming
Rough Justice
Cat Dragged In
and ..... beleive it or not -
Biggest Mistake

These could all change tomorrow. You know how opinions are!

Thanks mates!!!!
...Sorry I hadnt the time to answer this when it was up,
and then it just dropped from my mind...

I will fairly soon made my cd´s. The dude has his
birthday on Nov, 22; may be a indicating date.

He was a punk rocker in 1976-80 or slt;
and more into avantgarde & underground music when SMU came.

Think I´ll lay the emphasis on Exile, Goats & some of the 60´s albums.

I´d gladly receive more ideas here though!!
