40 Tunes This Tour . . . So Far

With Angie and RFD that brings the total of songs played to 40 on the tour so far.

T&A is taking bets at 2-1 odds that they won't make it to 40 songs until after Christmas, so you might want to get your bet in with him as soon as possible.

T&A, I'll take two of your best boots for my bet. winking smiley

Everyone else, how many songs do you think they'll play by the end of December?

I'll say at least 45, but don't bet me.

I agree, at least 45. And just wait till they get to Europe next year!

i'm glad - as I said in my original post/prediction - I hope I lose. I lost. I hope I lose by a mile....

having said that - it's still a little disappointing they haven't drifted a little more "into the unknown" - aside from RFD, none of their recent "new inclusions" have been from less traveled material. Give me "Carol" and I will be satisfied, though...if it takes me all night and day.

Gazza, you would not be happy even if they came to your house for your birthday party and played three hours of nothing but rarities. They will have played at least 45 by the end of December, with more new stuff to come in Europe.

It's 41 songs so far, not 40. Sweet Virginia in Charlottesville raised it to 39, then the 2 last night brought it to 41.

This tour so far is following the pattern used on the Bridges tour, which ended up with 76 songs played, including all songs played in 1999. Through 1998, they had played at least 60 songs on that tour, so I suspect they'll get to a similar amount by the end of the tour in 2006.

Bóllocks. If I was that hard to please, I'd hardly be going to New York in January would I?

My jibe was based on the fact that from evidence and past experience, they dont tend to add that many songs to the set by the time they get to Europe. As this tour has had more rigid setlists than the last three before it, it doesnt suggest they'll branch out much more by next summer than what they have done to date

I just did a comparison of this tour versus Bridges for totals of songs played.

Excluding the Toronto warm up concert we have had 20 regular shows this tour and and 41 different songs.

If you exclude the 2 warm up concerts and the Port Chester show on the Bridges tour, the Stones had played 39 songs through regular show #20, with an additional 2 songs played at the warm up shows, Little Red Rooster and Shame Shame Shame.

Also to that point, Keith was still playing his same 2 songs every night, All About You and Wanna Hold You, similar to this tour. It wasn't until the 25th regular show that he changed his set.
