OT U2 at Giants Stadium sing "Miss You" and "IORR"

I was at the U2 concert tonight at Giants Stadium, which I thought was pretty good. Bono included "It's Only Rock and Roll and I like it" at the end of one of the songs ("Vertigo" I think), and then started "I'll Go Crazy" with the chorus of "Miss You". Cool shout out to the Stones. Can't wait to see the Stones back on stage.

Was there too tonight. Great show. Loved when they threw in the old cover tunes into their own songs, though I wish they would've played an entire cover song straight. They threw in bits of Blackbird, Stand by Me, IORR, Miss You, and maybe Don't Stop Till you get Enough and Springsteen (not sure).

Also, does anyone know if Mick was in the audience tonight? At one point I thought I heard Bono say 'Mick Jagger is in the house' or something to that effect.

Highlights for me were Elevation, Vertigo (totally rocked), and a great Sunday Bloody Sunday.

I actually think Bono said that Mike Bloomberg was in the house (the mayor of NYC). I think "Mysterious Ways" and "Stay" were the highlights for me.

Saw them at Foxboro on Monday night.

"I Know I'll Go Crazy" was easily the best song - fantastic energy.

Also psyched that I got to hear two of my favorites "Faraway, So Close" and "Until the End of the World" - the two Wim Wenders ones - that was awesome.

As a side note - I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER go to see a show at Foxboro stadium again. Not even for the Rolling Stones - so I hope they decide never to play there again, I would hate to miss them when they're on my turf.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

What was so bad about Foxboro, CindyC? I am happy you enjoyed the show.

When attending Foxboro you should park up the street about a mile away and walk to the stadium . You save some beer money and you can get a good jump on the traffic woes when leaving .smileys with beer

I was at the show last night too... Kinda boring for me I guess because I'm a fan of their earlier music.

That was my plan - but the lots were full, so we ended up having to park in the Walpole Motel parking lot which according to my GPS is 1.5 - 2 miles away. I planned accordingly for walking (shoe-wise), but they ended up not being as comfortable as I thought and i was already in pain by the time we got there.

Plus - if you're not in their crappy park lot, they make you walk so far around, then up tons of stairs, all the way around back just to get in. We were in the stadium parking lot right when the band went on, however by the time we got to our seats, it was already the 3rd of 4th song. Total BS.

I spent the rest of the show with sore feet and the whole time all i could think about was how the hell was I going to be able to walk back to the car like that. It definitely ruined the night - band was great though.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

I was there (in Foxboro) and I thought it was a great show... No stadium is ideal for a concert

I was surprised at how many empty seasts there were.

6 or 7 VICODIN'S tossed back the old hatch (may I also suggest a Melon white rum 151 fizz cooler as a chaser) and the feetsie's would have been just fine !!! Snug like a bug in a rug - the pain would have been a distant abstract memory..... let's all strive for a PAINLESS 2010....

Careful Helter. Your getting up in Michael Jackson territory now with that med intake.

True. Vicodins seem fun at the moment. But we need more moments. Just drink beer and tell everyone...

The show was really good, don't get me wrong, but miles away from Springsteen or The Stones. It was great to see so many people from all sorts of ages though, not something you really see at Stones concert. U2's music is definitely relevant.

The 9/24 U2 show at Giants Stadium was excellent!

NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg was there. And yes, Bono did say Mick Jagger was in the house.

Really good show! The place was packed.

At the end of one of the songs Bono started running
pretty fast all around the stage...I was waiting
to see if he was going to be able to sing after that effort,
but he dropped to the floor before completing the full lap
and stayed there for more than a minute catching his breath...funny.

Amazing how the crowd did the job of the back up singers
all through the show singing every chorus and every hooooo
uhhhhh hooo...

The 360 stage and the screen that change sizes and came down was also
very cool. I believe this tour is going to be the highest grossing
ever and if the Stones or anyone wants to come close, they will have to
do something similar to the 360 concept.

Didn't the Stones during the 1975 tour had a stage that was also sorrunded
by the crowd...the one that had points that folded up?

Anyway, my first time at a U2 concert and I like it lots.

Not to be deliberately provocative, but you two are right, and equally important, is that U2 can deliver musically whereas the Stones guitar section probably will not.
