The best unreleased tracks, R W years 1984-2005

Time for the "modern" Stones years of available outtakes...

What (officially) unreleased studio recorded songs (not alternates) are your favourites?

Mine are these:

Baby You´re Too Much
Strictly Memphis
Deep Love
Ready Yourself
Honest Man
Zip Mouth Angel
You Got It Made

(There´s also some alternates with Keith on vocals which are great - especially Baby Break It Down!)

Is there no outtakes available from Bridges To Babylon and A Bigger Bang?

"Precious Love" needs to be on this list too, even though it feels more like Mick & Chuck than Stones.

For Your Precious Love & He Loves You So

Yeah, author broke the Ronnie era in two parts. The first part obviously is chock full of great outtakes; second a little less. But there are many good ones that don't get mentioned enough. There is a double disc called "All Mixed Up" which carries much of that overlooked 83 period. Then DW outtakes are mostly better than anything that has Jagger 86 vocals on it anyway...
And Brew/Stew have "You got it made", "Zip Mouth Angel", Middle of the Sea", "Honest Man", "It's Funny"; then "Precious Love" and "Radar" of course.

"RARE & UNRELEASED", should be the next Rolling Stones album. At least, 5 CDs of unreleased and unknown songs

Yeah, author broke the Ronnie era in two parts. .

Well, the actual Ronnie Wood era is 1975-1986. After that, starting in 1989, it is something else... (Chuck Leavell Era, Las Vegas Era, Cohl Era, Nostalgy era, etc.)

Yeah, I get the piont of "the actual Ronnie Wood era is 1975-1986".

Maybe the R W years 1975-1983 should be called "The Great R W Years" then...
For me, the quality of the Stones albums after this is not up to their previous standards.

Yeah, also that, but I think it is also significant that Ronnie doesn't contribute very much to the albums from STEEL WHEELS on. Before that he had quite a big impact on the Stones sound, got his riffs and songs in, and he was at least present from quite already stage when the songs were shaped, etc. I don't what happened then, but the result is that Ronnie's presence and impact on records quite minimal. They seem to treat him like a session musician who is called to to play if some parts is needed here and there. Perhaps something is to do with the fact that the way the Stones work in studio is different than before, and Jagger seems to be in total charge nowadays (well, from 1989 on, and when they VERY rarely happen to visit the studio, and when they do, minimal time is wasted). No more endless jamming, and spending hours to finding the 'right' groove... Perhaps the deal Mick and Keith did in 1989 to tolarate each other to get the business done was to get rid of the middle or third man. My guess is that Jagger didn't accept the Keith-Ronnie-axis anymore in the studio (remember, the Ronnie-Keith-duo was very much the creative core of DIRTY WORK album. Perhaps Ronnie had to pay the bill for trying to get in the middle of Mick and Keith... Brian Jones-syndroma...)
