Macca's fall!
Posted by: Shawn20 ()
Date: September 19, 2005 00:12

I was at the McCartney show last night. He stepped back into a major hole in stage where the grand piano was rising from beneath the stage. I thought he was really hurt. It was not a stumble, but a crash. It would have been a great spot to jump into "Fixing A Hole." He joked and laughed about it most of the night....but I'm telling he could have been seriously injured.

Come on, is this really a topic? I also read about the incident, the other thing was that somebody managed to run on stage an grab McCartney (didn´t this also happen during the second Stones night?). I´m not against opening threads about McCartneys tour and his new album (in fact I am a fan of both, McCartney and Stones), but this goes really a bit too far in a Stones forum, don´t you think? smiling smiley

Oh god, how creative *sigh*

Anyway.. it would be interesting to see that on bootleg. Good that he seemed ok.
Did you like the show BTW Shawn20?

fxc1,

Liked your post on the Palace/ Plaza, not so much on he sucks. Really, it's beneath you.

Didn't Keith check in at the Plasma? I think that's an old nickname.

McCartney's show was fantastic. I am so fortunate to be able to see Mac and the Stones.......both great, but very different shows. I can't begin to describe how great he looks, plays and sings. Live and Let Die was stunning.

Lots of IORR posters are Beatles and McCartney fans, and the concensus is that the Beatles and the Stones can both be admired and don't have to be compared. Here is a great McCartney site:

I'm not particulary fond of Macca... but saying he sucks is plain stupid.

@country honk
Imagine what would have happened had he broken his neck & died.
Then the world would have been inondated with Beatles & McCartney material.
Now he's just quietly touring & we don't have to hear that stuff...
I do feel some sympathy for what you say, but really we're better off with him alive.

Some pretty cruel comments on this thread, overall. To dislike Macca is one thing....to actively wish the guy physical harm is just plain uncalled for.

Maybe someone should open the "It's only bull shit but I like to smell it" forum for all the so called Stones fans who are into the ex-bass player of the Beatles? Until then I also got some great website for those upcoming IOBS posters

My dear Captain, your name says it all. Such hostility to a fellow rock legend seems so mean spirited.

Dear Shawn, you bet your ass my opinion IS mean spirited. Every time you call this piece of crap a rock legend one of your Stones albums should be destroyed. This don't-mention-him bass player is a devil with two pieces of shit for horns on his head.

Nevermore it shall be allowed to mention gay pianists and weed smoking bass players in this holy forum. Next time you may call some glitter baby a rock legend. Beware of such bad behaviour before it's too late!

From a site:

"First answers to the rumors of the Tampa's : St. Pete Times Forum 9/17/2005 , Paul McCartney Concert:

1) Some fan/person got on stage and rushed Paul?
Yes, a young black lad, sitting in the front row , managed to jump on stage, but security was right on him, and he didnt get anywhere next to Sir Paul. Sir Paul, just stepped back and 5-7 security people rushed the young lad, who appeared to be around 19-23 years old, backstage. Knowing Sir Paul , I am sure he met with him backstage.

(2) Paul fell into the 5' pit where his piano comes up?
Well , I really, don't if this was staged, cause Paul at opening of show talked about the stage not being safe, and hoped he didnt fell into holes. Plus, Sir Paul was quickly right back on his feet, and said to the effect of : Will someone please put a picket fence around this area.... happen early on in show , and didnt seem to effect Paul's performing."

That's right except I never heard Lemmy was a weed smoker.
Besides who needs a bass player if you can smoke all the fine weed by yourself??

I flew to miami from London for Macca's opening show and was BLOWN AWAY.
Amazing. 36 songs / 2hrs 40mins...

Stop the bashing.

Captain, you're a C***
