A conference I attended in New Orleans in 2008 had an evening event that featured Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe in one part of the venue and Kermit Ruffins just across the way.

Pretty cool to be able to meander back and forth between these two fantastic acts. One of the best nights of music I've ever experienced.

I think these are French-Canadian - acadien - rather than southern Cajun, but anyway, here are two from one of my all-time favourite albums...

Those are good, I've hard some of that on French CanadiEn radio before which beams through to a lot of the Continental US at night. In fact, a lot of the Quebec acoustic music is magnificent as well.
