OT: Dylan's latest bootleg series release

For those that believed they had exhausted all meaningful studio material from his brilliant 60's - think again. Holy smoke - I cannot believe this release! Thought the bootlegger's had pretty well covered the territory. About 25 previously unearthed tunes - some of them absolutely jaw-dropping. A must-have for any serious Dylan fan. I passed on a couple of earlier releases in this series, 'cos the boots were as good or better...not this time.

It's a great release and it will be a dream come true when the Stones finally do something similar though I'm not holding my breath. The DVD of Scorcese's film is not on the 20th! Right on Bob!

Yes, the Stones should take note, but what they're probably taking note of is the agony Neil Young has gone through for the last 10 years, trying to get his 15 or however many CDs it's going to be box set completed. I can't see Mick or Keith putting themselves through that. The job of just listening to eveything they've done for the last 40 years, let alone choosing the best versions of the best unrelesed songs, the best live tracks, the best alternate versions, etc., it's just too big of a job. They just don't want to deal with it. Life is too short.

I also don't belive that Bob has enough time to listen to all his catalog and choose. Who's doing it wonder? Whoever it is he's doing great job! Stones should hire that guy.

66 Albert Hall is the first one I got and still my favorite. The 2 CD's couldn't be more different and they're both great!

Mr Klein probably won't let the 60s stuff out and despite what we think the outtakes are stuff they didn't release for a reason and might still feel that way.

Neil Young said on his web site his archive is coming soon now he got Praire Wind out.

neil's archive project has been pushed back until '06 now ... may never happen in our collective lifetimes at this rate...

Speaking of Neil, I'm sure you all have heard of "Borrowed Tune" from Tonight's The Night.

(sung to the tune of "Lady Jane")

I'm singing this borrowed tune
I took from the Rolling Stones
Alone in this empty room
Too wasted to write my own
