AMEX card question

If you buy tickets through an AMEX presale using whatever the code is, do you have to PAY for the tickets with an AMEX card or can you use a different credit card??
And is the code still the 10-digit phone number?? Or does the code change from sale to sale?

I assume your talking about buying through ticketmaster.com? If that's the case, it's my experence that:
1. The code DOES change. However, most of the ones I see are AMEX.
2. You HAVE to pay using an American Express card.
