well it may be copy protected but i just played it on my windows media player and select "copy from cd" from menu (you can choose the quality of the recording that is lossless, 128, 192, 256 etc) and here you are

so i got my own edited copy of ABB with cd quality wma files and burned it for stero and car stereo
and all the album in Mp3 files for my pod

cheers

THE CD IS NOT COPY PROTECTED.
SERIOUSLY.
Its a redbooks audio disc and works great.
This is incredibly obvious due to the fact that the album/artist/song/title info had to be looked up online and didnt popup automatically.
Just rip the cd in windows media player or your other favorite software. If you actually bought the disc you will have no problems with it.

on my copy it says clearly "copy Control" on it. And there are 17 tracks on it.
the 17th is a selfextracting.exe file when doubleclicked.
I won't touch it tho.
The fact that there is a exe file on it, makes Non-RedBook compatible!
For further information please have a look at wikipedia:
[en.wikipedia.org])
[en.wikipedia.org]

I'm talking about the version i bought here in germany.
US buyers probably won't have that kind of issue.
cheers

I ripped mine with cdex, and it that worked fine. I saw the 17th track there plus in windows explorer.
Can you double check, please?
What about the back of the cover? does it have a copy control information printed on it?

the copy control info is printed on the back.
but NO 17th track there, neither in windows explorer, nor on cdex
windows media player or anywhere. tried 2 pc + one laptop !!!
copied mine with the otherwise shitty windows media player with 320kbits/sec
got my copy on sunday on a official "release party" endorsed by virgin/emi

Well maybe the 17th track, when clicked, turns the CD into one by the famous Timebandits? [www.timebandits-berlin.de] ?

I failed when I tried to convert ABB to mp3 with SonicStage.
Then I tried the same thing with MusicMatch which worked fine.
