I would kill to hear them play this song, a true gem I think, and probably very suitable for stadium and arena play

Both songs are very different from the normal Rolling Stones live set - a bit like 2000 LY was a nice break in the Steel Wheels / Urban Jungle tour.

Also, Have You Seen Your Mother Baby.. would be great too. Indeed, much of their mid-sixties stuff is under represented in the set.

As I've said here earlier - this one would have made a killer opener!

I would guess it's the only A-side that they've never played live?

In Another Land was released as a single which wasn't played live (I don't think)

I think you're right. As far as I know, Stones have NEVER played any Satanic Majesties live except for 2000 Light Years and She's A Rainbow, and even then, not until '89. I think they should do a little pyschedelic mini-set; Child Of The Moon, Dandelion, We Love You, etc.

The Stone's pyschedelic period is generally looked upon as a low point in the 60s which, I guess, is why they don't play those songs. However, I think that they did put ou some great stuff, even if much of Satanic was endlessly droning sitar! For every Gomper there is a 2000 Light Years.

A great song indeed! However, that would be a difficult song to reproduce onstage. How would they replace and/or recreate Brian's eerie mellotron? Would you have to bring in an orchestra or just ask Keith and Woody to flail away on their guitars? Anyway, I agree that the Stones' mid-60's stuff is way underrespresented in their setlists, which is a cryin' shame.
