If there is to be another tour, and it would turn out to be the last one,
what do you think the odds are for Bill joining them on the road?

-TomR

Only if they're planning to criss cross the globe by donkey.

Why does the question about Wyman joining them for a last tour bring out the bashers out in force?

The concerts at the O2 were fantastic so I hope to god they carry on and don't listen to the slaggers.

As ludicrous as it is to expect a 73 year-old Bill Wyman to play bass for the Rolling Stones again, I find it equally absurd to find people here salivating at the prospect of a 67 year-old Mick Jagger strut his stuff to the likes of "She Was Hot" and "You Got Me Rocking".

But not to "As Tears Go by" .... surely ?

Agreed!!!

I thought "As Tears Go By" was magnificent at the Beacon, and it was so refreshing to here the band do such wonderful justice to this old chestnut. Great too, with such toned-down material, to hear Jagger sound like the truly magnificent vocalist that we hear so little of in live gigs these days.

And yes, I'd be as excited as anyone else on this board, IF they were to take to the road with a setlist containing some of these diverse - but brilliant - numbers from their back catalogue.

The emphasis is on the IF!!

Buddy Guy is 73, tours around and plays guitar / sings very well - so why should it be the last tour. If the health is ok, then they can continue.

The only reason not to do so is: If it means that they will play in small venues and the Stones only want to play in big ones.

i remember when the stones started the steel wheels tour, was great to see it happen but i just couldnt imagine jagger srutting his stuff when over 50, it didnt seem right.

the longer the stones went on with jagger over 50 and i thought i wouldnt want him to be over 55 and still touring, then it became 60, then 65 and so on.

the longer the stones go on the better it is for the fans as long as we understand they aint going to look the way we want them to.

I make it a point to see Buddy in Legends every January--where he blows the doors off the joint every night for two weeks. But I also caught him recently in Toronto at Massey Hall (a year ago last April) and I was really sadly disappointed at how badly he played. It was like watching a car wreck.

Last January I went to see him back in Legends and he was as stunning as ever.

I just don't want to see that kind of inconsistency from the Stones, at any age.

I saw Buddy Guy 10 days ago in Capitol One Bank Wetsbury and he was in fine spirit. BG probably has is off days like any other band inclusive Stones.

Hi guys!
Don't you know it's "the last Rolling Stones 'Tour" for 30 years now, so Bill missed a large part of these last tours so: keep going on like this Billie!

I hope the future tour will have a rocket seat and robot woman for each attendee.

wait a second, wyman was brave enough to fly to the US on one of his solo tours several years ago, so what happened to his fear then?

He even dared himself to play in my hometown, way up north in Norway!
And that was just 2 years ago.

Probably didnt involve too many flights. More significant that that has been AFAIK) his only US visit since 1989.

He pretty much never plays outside north/west Europe.

I hope this tour will be announced within the next 3 to 4 monthes. I just went to the U2 website and a bit pissed of to watch a video on the frontage repeating that the Greatest Rock and Roll Band was again in the US. Hopefully "of all time"was not added.

Within the next four months?? Not a prayer. I'd be surprised if the Stones are on the road before this time next year.

How would you expect the webpage of another band to describe the subject of their site - "the 7th best band in the world?"

Quite why this competition upsets people so much bemuses me.

That title was not something the Stones wanted correct? So why do people spout if off with glee and defend it?

Who cares? They certainly are NOT based on a lot of what I heard from the Bang tour. Quite possibly the worst as far as professional acts go. That's a bit of a stretch but you get the point.
