I'm surprised Mythos got a mention! You do end up drinking it when on holiday but it is so pumped with chemicals it gives me a headache!

Out of all the "holiday beers" I think San Miguel is nicest. (depends where you go on holiday, I guess)

My general rule is to always drink what the locals are having. That way, I drink real ale in UK, red wine in France and Filfar when in Cyprus.

From personal experience, he's not kidding either, folks!

I actually never got a headache of it - but I decide mainly for Ouzo or 5 star Metaxa anyway when I'm in Greece. Some self-made Raki once gave me the headache of my life...

Mythos & other "holiday beers":
Except the chemicals its a well-known fact that (much) beer drains the body of fluids & water... A good hangover at the hot latitudes would consist of
(and God knows I´be had a few... )

Sun & heat
Too much beer
some chemicals... ? Right?

And never drink draught beers at discos or such joints!

I thank the European Union for the fact I can buy beer from all over Europe at my local wine store. And its easier to grab a foreign beer at our poubs too since the 90´s.

lots of favourites really but the best beer I have tasted in the last couple of years is from the Harviestoun Brewery - in fact there are a lot of really top class beers coming out of Scotland at the moment.

cant stand Speckled Hen to be honest although I know it is popular

Someone mentioned Watneys Red Barrel - I assume that this was a joke because this beer/brewery almost singlehandedly tried to destroy the real ale presence in UK pubs. Thank god it is no more - foul stuff

Plenty of beer festivals in the UK coming up so if you havent been to one before get along and see the huge range of different beers being brewed in this country. Even get women going along these days too!
