Cool!

Does he still play dressed up in a suit?

I'm not sure, but I think his Charlie Watts days are long over.

Yeah, great news, the only one still missing is Johnny Colt. Where is he?

those better educated on the Crowes told me Sven was there before Johnny. He turned down the Crowes because his then band Mary My Hope already had a recording deal.
Still I'd like to know where's Johnny, too. But I don't think he's essential to the band.

No Johnny Colt will not be back. I know most of the guys pretty well and JC is doing allright on his own, as they are w/o him. I think the return of Gorman is the absolute best news for the Crowes. Sort of like Charlie for the Stones. And with Martc Ford with them it's like the best lineup ever. And don't forget that keyboard player. Excellent! The Crowes know how to do it right. They better do well. That album "Lions" was an embarrassment. Many don't even know it exists and are better off. I saw Chris with the Earth Band on Letterman a whiule back doing 40 Days and man did it rock!

???? It's their best album right after Southern Harmony IMO!

Potted are you kidding? I agree with the best one totally. So harmony is the best, but "Lions"??? No way

Agree with Chelsea on this one. Harmony can be their best, but Lions... I like 3snakes and By Your Side much more than Lions, especially 3snakes. Lions could be the weakest from thier whole discography, at least for my taste.

"Lions" and "By Your Side" are underrated albums, there great songs on both.
With Steve Gorman back, I think it's the best Crowes line-up.
Great, great news !!

"by your side" was somewhat of a disappointment to me -- it has some really good songs, but the production doesn't do them justice, IMHO.

"Stop draggin my heart around" btw, opens with a great takoff on a stones riff (memo from Turner).

Lot of Faces influence.

Harmony is a masterpiece. Hard to beat.

Lions was really good...you just have to listen to it and give it a chance. It will hook you!

By your side is a really great album. Go faster, kicking my heart around.
The song by your side always reminds me of Tumbling dice. In one way or another those songs sounds the same.
Loins is also great but different.
My favorite Crowes album is still Shake your money maker, with good old Chuck on it.

Maybe The Stones should hire Eddy Harsh and The Crowes Chuck. Woudn´t that be great??

the thing i always thought was cool about the crowes was they were the only band that could capture that out of control/runaway train kind of groove that the eary 1970s stones created and did so well (midnight rambler, all down the line, for example),

Saw the Crowes in Pensacola this past weekend. Actress Kate Hudson was in tow with her and Chris' baby.

The band was great, Steve Gorman was there dredd in black but no suit.

Chris and Rich hung out on separate busses, but Chris was very friendly, I think he's chilled out alot since getting married.

How come nobod mentions AMORICA, which is a masterpiece!! Way better than Lions, which is the weakest album. I'm glad Gorman is back, now it's time for a new album.

Actually JC is doing great! He has his own band, called asphalt blaster and he's in Train. Dude, is doing some great non-musical things as well as is VERY successful and happy. Yogaman is centered, inked and very succesful. What more could he want?

Their songs are as memorable as farts in the wind.

Amorica is one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Too bad rock critics aren't music fans, and most so called "music fans" are in fact sheep who don't judge for themselves. When some lazy hack writes off bands like the Crowes as Rolling stones rip offs, these people believe it and miss out on some real music. Maybe they listened to the Strokes instead, and whatever over-rated crap it is this year they're told is cool.

"Lions" was mostly embarrassing. It got to the point where 1 or 2 songs were pretty good and then the rest half good with embarrassing lyrics and rythm.

"By your side" was a bit better, but really the best albums are the first two: "The southern harmony..." and "Shake your money maker". "Three snakes and one charm" is also pretty good, but some embarrassing tracks like "Black berry". There is no excuse for that song.

Thoughts?
