You're always hollerin' ‘bout where I've been
You're always screamin' ‘bout the money I spend
What's wrong with you, oh yeah
You're crackin’ up

I caught you, woman, a long time ago, boys
Keep your hand out of my pocket, keep your foot out my door
What's wrong with you, oh yeah
You're crackin’ up

I used to do your cookin', your laundry too
Now what more for a woman could a man like me do
I’m fed up, oh yeah
You're bugging me

Oh yeah, oh, you’re crackin' up, oh my my

Oh yeah

Produced by The Glimmer Twins

First released on:
The Rolling Stones - “Love You Live” 2LP
(Rolling Stones Records COC 2-9001) US, September 16, 1977

Every white band had "reggae-songs" on the set-list at that time, my favorites on "Love you Live" were Mannish Boy...both Jagger and Keith worked with Peter Tosh...My fav.bands at that time were Patti Smiths,The Brittish Punk Bands and Ramones...

it's not a reggae song (despite they made it sound like that), that's Bo Diddley man smiling smiley

I love Mona above all but that's such a cool cover though. funniest song on LYL that adds some dynamic and laugh smiling smiley

I remember in the past I've never been able to figure out the lyrics...

Amused,

Interesting to hear that early Stones' version - what is the source? Availability?

I love this song - both versions. A special thank you to miss lady sssoul for turning me on to the old version a few years back.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

I love Keith's (surely?) background vocals smiling smiley

4SW: description says "Live, 23/07/1964".

The 1964 version is quite charming, even if not among their best from that time...

No, it's not reggae - the Bo Diddley/Ron Wood version reminds me of a different African (actually Ghanaian) source:

The love you live version is a very typical reggae stones song that was very influenced bya their relationship with P. Tosh. This love to reggae music began with Luxury, and is very late 90s Rolling Stones sound with the Ron Wood influence

One of my fav LYL tracks; they cover it with such zest and sparkle. LYL has been criticized as being sloppy, but not the El Mocambo tracks, baby ... they swing like a motherfvcker. And Crackin' Up is a highlight.

That whole gig, would love to have been there, if only for the fun they were having between the numbers. "Bill Wyman just likes to take pictures of girls' legs." ... "It's a bottom pincher, Keith..." spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Great stuff.
