Hey Elmo, I understand that the "Big House" is now a museum?
Any thoughts to share?

Yeah, that's the plan. I haven't been by but may take a day trip to do that. I'm about an hour SE of Macon.

I strongly encourage all music lovers to come to Macon and see the sights - Georgia Music Hall of Fame is great. Tick Tock Club (where Little Richard started) is now an upscale resturant. Otis Redding statue. Graves of Duane and Berry (please be respectful) at Rose Hill Cemetary, which also has the grave of Elizabeth Reed. The old Capricorn Studio (betcha been there stonesrule). The Big House. H & H.

There is also a thriving local music scene. I recently saw and met our own skipstone when he was in Macon playing with Grayson Capps at the Hummingbird. Come on down ..... I'll show ya around.

BTW, Chuck lives about 15 minutes out of town and is often out and about. And there's some Stones related stuff in the GA Music HOF - some stuff Chuck has donated and a section on Gretch instruments (a Savannah company) with some pics of Charlie.

After following some of the link's Elmo posted, I came across this photo. Besides the Stones, the only other band whose music really spoke to me was the Allman Bros. Not so much the 20+ min jams, but songs like Melissa, Blue Sky, Please call home, etc.

I never knew they set up and played in the chapel at Duane's funeral. Even though they were professional musicians, it must have taken every ounce of strength they had. I read where Barry was never the same after Duane died, having nightmares, etc.
