I love Grams music.

Guilded Palace of Sin and Grevious Angel are two of my favorite albums.

I think his Keith - Stones connection really helped him. he was wired to self destruct though.
Great songwriter: 'Brass Buttons' 'Wheels' '100 Years From Now'... so many others, many cowritten with Chris Hillman or Chris Ethridge

I love his singing and his music in general. the more you find out about him, for me personally, it very sad.

glad that Emmylou Harris began her career with him. they were fantastic together.

I agree. I kind of got familiar with him through Emmylou Harris records (working backwards), and then hearing of his friendship with Keith Richards. Can't say I was an instant fan, but he grew on me.

Although watching a documentary about him, I was left with the same feeling, wired to self destruct. A rich kid without any responsibility doing whatever he wanted. Which I guess isn't exactly his fault, and who knows what we'd do in the same situation...

A rich kid with an inherited tendency towards mental instability, alcoholism and drug abuse! A very talented but sad and tortured soul but yep I'm a huge fan too!

exactly! inherited from both his parents. not sure how things were for his sister...?

great of Chris Hillman to forgive him, after GP left the Byrds in the lurch..as a result, we have the Flying Burrito Brothers.

Last week I buy a great 2CD from The Flying Burrito Bros - Live at the Avalon Ballroom 1969. A 2CD with 2 gigs and 2 unreleased home recordings from GP!!
I hope for more CD releases like this.

I'm still looking for the rare CD Cosmic American Music (The rehearsal Tapes 1972). Released in 1995 by Sundown.

I am a fan from outer space.

Anyway, Keith's singing on Love Hurts is the best singing he has done since '80.

Although I recognize his contribution to my favorite Stones song, Wild Horses, I must say I am not a fan. I TRIED! I bought his 3 cd box set, " The Complete Reprise Sessions", and with the exception of perhaps 3 songs, I was very disappointed and wondered what the fuss has been about him. One day I'll sell this cd set, that's how little I like it.

I tried. Can't stand 'im. Read Hickory Wind. He came off as a spoiled brat riding purely on the coat tails and capes of others.

Have become much more familiar with him over the past year. The work he did with Emmylou was great...what harmonies!

This is my favorite version of ROTGA, after Gram & Emmylou, of course. They did a bang up job...again great harmonies.

On Gram, other than his near perfectly matched voice with Emmylou Harris, I don't think he was a great singer. I do, however, think he wrote/co-wrote great songs. They're not rockers, but beautiful, nonetheless.

Got a girl at work who loves that one with Norah. She says
"1 minute she looks scared, then enjoys it, and Keith starts to relax too"
Keith gets better and better 'tru the song. The last part after the guitars is amazing.
