I've always loved Shattered.

When The Whip Comes Down is great too.

And for some reason Lies has always been one that I love.

The rest of 'em - not so much. Well, Faraway Eyes is great.

I know Miss You and Beast Of Burden had the big success but Shattered has always sort of defined this era of the Stone for me. It's my fave from Some Girls.

although i cant stand the live versions anymore, i still think miss you is one of the best dance tracks i've ever heard.

and before they make me run is a greatgreat keith tune.

love lies 2...haha, as with all the other albums (till undercover) i basicaly love all their songs....

so if i have to choose my top 3 somegirls tracks it's:

some girls
miss you
before they make me run

Miss You is in my top 5 songs of the stones of all times, so no contest there.

But Run has always been one of my favorites too.

But the true problem with this album is finding a song that is not a 10/10 ...

Some Girls is not a Stones classic to me. But a good and important album for them.

Imo Miss you was a huge single success and a great song!

I also like Beast of Burden, Before they make me run, Whip, Respectable and F. eyes.

For me their best album.

Charlie plays an absolute blinder.

Their back was against the wall and they produced.

When the Whip comes Down or Respectable

I don't know about best -- I really enjoy the whole album, but the one I have enjoyed most over time is Beast of Burden. Also almost worn out on the vinyl are the title track, When the Whip Comes Down, Before They Make Me Run and (yes) Miss You.

It's not one of my faves but it does have some good songs on it.

I'm worn out on Miss You and Beast Of Burden. If I hear those never again it'll be too soon.

Shattered and Far Away Eyes

Only Beast Of Burden. Don't like the album at all. From Some Girls up until Dirty was such a low point. A few gems in there but not much.

They have done hundereds of songs that are far better that Shattered and still they spoil valuable live gig time on this song.... beats me

same for me. never liked it. the low point on SAL for instance..dont understand what people like about this tune. but hey on the otherhand, i do like indian girl for instants (a song that seems to be in the same category as back to zero or streets of love for alot of iorrians) ;-)

The first 2 songs I heard were Miss You and Shattered that Summer. Loved both. Neither ever translated well live, for me.

Once I heard the rest of the record, and saw them in Buffalo that Summer of 78, I loved Lies and Respectable. Both seemed to be a Stones volley back at the world of punk. Still favorites of mine.

Love this album - captures the summer of 78 - the year I graduated from HIGH school!

Love "Shaettered", but it never really sounds right live - same as "Satisfaction" among others.

Many fun memories of this album.

Before They Make Me Run

Always been a little bias towards Keith's tracks, but this one deserves it imo.

On the subject of Some Girls, and forgive me if this has already been posted, Mrletitbleed posted some great 1978 rehearsal bits on YouTube. Here's a great one...

I would have to say WTWCD is the best track on that album. It gets you going from the start. Shattered is a close second. Respectable then BTMMR. I was listening to it last night with the kids and it got all of us moving. I love this album from start to finish.

I LOVE the whole album, one of my favourites.

Yeah Skip Shattered, Whip, lies are great, better than Miss You 'The hit,' I do like Beat, but it's lower down on the scale. I would put Respectable and Before They . . .. up there near the top too.

But Miss you got something strange...i like it,and every time i hear it,i see colours of seventies(maybe 80's too),its just zeitgeist as much as possible.its from time of charles bronson,dirty harry,even terence hill&bud spencer,time of big big coke&marlboro fascias.

Brilliant album,cannot decide which is the best song.
Today Shattered,tomorrow Whip...
Rolled Gold I got first but SG was my first true "regular" Stones album I bought 1978.

"Just my Imagination" gets my vote;
partly because it seems a bit underrated in this topic.

Absolute TOP-album, "Some Girls;
I always especially liked Bill Wyman's bass sound on it.
