1) he didn't have a good role
2) maybe not the worst, indeed he's not among the best ones

Mick Jagger is one of the worst actors of all time, especially when he's playing himself

I like the thread where we discussed Stones going 007 ;-) Keith and Charlie would have been great in mid and late sixties.

I think Performance was his best

that list is pretty funny cuz it has ALL the rockstars who had been involved in a movie. so, who are the best???
david bowie is on the list, and he's actually a great actor (he did theatre too)

Well, that's interesting, coming from an English newspaper, considering how lately its been said that Performance is the greatest British film of all time. The country's best film starring the worst actor?

Performance is the only flick in Jaggers filmography worth mentioning.

Mick was good in Performance that movie is quite watchable from beginning to end. But in Free Jack I am sorry to say Mick is pretty bad and the movie is horrible. It's a shame because Jagger loves to be involved in the making of movies. Hopefully one day he'll get a lead role that works for him and prove the naysayers(me included) wrong. Good luck Mick!

"Performance is the greatest British film of all time"

Among the 200 best would be more accurate. "The Lady Killers" beats PF by a huge margin imho.

Kind of a silly list since you wouldn't expect Marlon Brando quality acting from a rock star and none of them were really good as actors imo. I think Daltrey is far worse in his roles although he was okay in the guest appearance on "That 70's Show".

I though Jagger was good in "The Man From Elaysian Fields".

"Lyin' awake in a cold, cold sweat. Am I overdrawn, am I going in debt?
It gets worse, the older that you get. No escape from the state of confusion I'm in.

Maybe he is a great actor, and we just can't avoid the rock star connection when
we see him.....nah....nevermind.

Did the Stones or Scorsese win any Oscars? (serious question - The only Awards show I catch is the R & R Hall of Fame)

He put up a great performance as a regular guy in Being Mick winking smiley.

But lists are so silly. I've just read one in the gardening section of the paper: most loved flower = rose. Most hated flower = rose. How does that work? Oh well, maybe it'll make sense after another Pimms

in performance he is wonderful and more; ain't seen it in many a year but was my ab fave flick for lonngggest time...
saw clip (not entire film yet) of the scene with Angelica Huston in 'elysian fields'...at first i thought really amatuer...then re-watched and found it interesting...hard for me to really judge it because i just find each Stone so fasinating...even just watching him work with the characterization, whether successful or not in anyone's opinion...is fasinating to me...just a stone gone fan for lfie i guess... i'd look in on almost anything; Bowie was great in at least two movies i've seen...(and horrid in others)...
jon bon jovi is worst rock and roll actor of all time; only he's not rock and roll...

No. The only thing it was ever put forward for was a Golden Reel nomination for Best Sound editing.

he is really not that bad, but his rock persona is to mega to allow him a fair critical acting career

Beelyboy, I very much liked him Elysian Fields. His reaction when she turned him down was priceless, more so considering who he is, as you say, a subject fascination. I enjoyed that restaurant scene.

.

May be too close to his own human being ?

I never saw Elysian Fields ,only few minutes on You Tube.
he seemed to do it well.

The worse for me was Ned Kelly .
I saw the movie in 75 during a school movie meeting .I was so proud to say he was the Stones leader ,and how great he was ...blah blah but I felt a bit p****d off after the film..

I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .
