Just been listening to some Shuggie Otis (writer of Strawberry Letter 23 and son of Johnny). It occured to me that here was another who could and did play everything, alongside Todd and Fogerty. Listening to his marvelous guitar playing I thought I'd post a YET ANOTHER was he considered for the Stones, And as it goes rumour has it that Billy Preston approached him on their behalf.
Is there a half decent guitarest out there who was auditioned, offered or rumoured to have been offered the job ?

Jans Akkerman turned them down, to concentrated on his then new Tulip buisness FACT.

Anyway on a serious note, some fine ( if a tad overrated) albums.

Jan Akkerman and the Stones?
Come on!

But Shuggie was on one of those lists!
