it's been a thread like this before but as I can't find it and there's still something to talk about, let's give it a try.
Jumpin' Jack Flash - the definitive tune of mighty rock and roll. huge uptempo track with a great riff, creative solo part and one of the best Mick's vocals.
also, pretty optimistic lyrics... "it's all @#$%& up but it's all right now!"
I've been waiting for many years for someone to sing it "I'm jumpin' Jack Flash, it's a @#$%& gas!"
so, once we know that... my 3 favorite versions:
3 STUDIO VERSIONsuch a cool groove on that one... just perfect sound & cool production.
2 2002/2003 LICKS VERSIONcompletely redone song. hard rocking tune and just awesome use of horn section!
1 ROCK AND ROLL CIRCUSbluesy, starting slow and then getting faster... Mick's vocals are top of the world here.
I never quite got it what's so good about 1969 version. OK, they were playing miracles then, it's a great opener, but they used to play it better! Groovier.
