Can't tell you much about the material itself, because I personally was unfamaliar with it, with the exception of one or two tunes that I recognised - but couldn't name. But in terms of musicanship, unsurpassed. Particularly nice to also see younger brother Chris (plus Atcha band member Charlie Hart), I love Cajun music. The boogie woogie piano playing on display was stunning. But the real treat for me I think was just the visual spectacle of Charlie, the natural ease and swing with which he drums - from a little over six feet away. His smiles and range of other amazing facial expressions are hilarious. He looks great, gotta say. And I was the only one that remarked upon not only the fact that he looks fit and well is obviously enjoying himself, but yes ... he looks ready for another tour !! We live in hope !!

I was wondering about that when I saw Chris' washboard.
Didn't know they had that in their repertoire.

Glad ya'll had a good time!

I'll have to leave the honour of posting a setlist to someone else more knowledgeable than me, though I did recognize a few songs from their April gig at the Bull's Head. Ben Waters kicked off with a solo of Down the Road Apiece and Axel Zwingenberger did Suitcase Blues. He also said he'd been with Charlie on the South Bank Show when they did a programme on the history of boogie woogie,so they must go way back - that show was probably televised about 20 or more years ago. Also the singer Maxwell someone, who did a few numbers, had a great voice and was introduced as someone who'd sung at Ian Stewart's wedding. All the musicians put on a great show and all seemed to be really enjoying themselves, not least Charlie. His constantly changing facial expressions really are a joy to behold - absolutely priceless! And in the interval, he was having a look at the photos on one of the walls of when they played at the 100 Club - though he's not in the photos, which are of Keith, Mick and Ronnie. He also kindly signed autographs for me and many others.

Thanks for the excellent photos. Looks like a great night. Charlie looks a lot more animated than when playing rock 'n roll!

Thanks for the great pics and reviews.
I had hoped to go to this event, but alas my car has problems and to be frank, is not up to the 400 mile plus journey.
(and, i had to work anyway!)
The fact that it was the 100 club (wherthe sex pistols infamously played) made it doubly attractive to me.
Anyway, Charlie looks happy and healthy, who were the special guests? or were there any Stones family etc in the crowd?
Thanks

Great night, really enjoyed it. Fantastic to see Charlie up close and on such fine form. As well as the great music, I had two other fantastic encounters with Charlie. The first was at the beginning of the night, when he arrived at the club. I was standing near the entrance and had put my beer on a nearby table. At one stage, when I reached over to grab my glass I looked up to see that my arm was blocking Charlie's path!! I quickly got out of his way, and gave him a smile, and he smiled back, almost laughing! The second encounter happened a little bit later when he was walking out from the dressing room to the stage. He somehow took a wrong turn and rather than walking straight ahead he took a left turn and came straight towards me. He walked straight up to me with a bemused look on his face and said "Where am I going", laughing again. His security guy quickly caught up with him and pointed him in the right direction......but wow, what a night!

Thanks for posting the pictures. Managed to wipe my camera this morning !
What a venue, what a night. It was great to see many familiar faces and share memories of Stones shows etc.
Highlight for me - holding out my hand when Charlie was returning for the second set and he shook it and we said "hello"! How can hands so soft play so hard ? Charlie seemed very happy to be there.

I took a last minute flight to London to see Charlie, strayed in London for about 16 hours in total, and ended up seeing one of the best and most fun shows I have attended in a long while:

- The best boogie woogie piano players around, all over one piano
- Charlie Watts at his best, on his black special non-Stones Gretch
- Shaking hands with Charlie, yes, he is ready for more fun!
- Chris Jagger proving that it is in the family genes, dancing and entertaining
- Swinging London, 100 Club at its best
- No food but some pints of Bitter and peanuts/crisps do work
- Meeting up with many great fans and friends
- Light rain as we walk out of the show, I love London!
- Five hours sleep before going home
- All computers down at Heathrow at 6am, hand written boarding card!
- Sunshine and + 25 C as I am back home by noon Sunday

Thanks Charlie for this special Saturday night!

It was a great show - even thought I was totally unfamiliar with the material. Great to shake Charlies hand - worth the price of admission in itself.

I am also not familiar with Boogie Woogie-tunes. The song I recognized was Ray Charles' "Let's go get stoned", which I heard already a few times from Chris Jagger.

It was funny to see them playing together - I mean Charlie and Chris (haha - instead of Mick). And as mentioned also funny is the fact that Chris has to move and dance on stage the whole time like his brother. During the first set Charlie several times looked a bit amused, as if he was surprised or amused about Chris' singing or whatever.

Charlie seemed to enjoy this gig very much. Unfortunately I didn't understand the name of the other Blues singer. We met him the next morning (actually today) on Gatwick airport; he told us that he went back home to his small canal island without any cars. He was very nice, but I didn't want to ask him for his name. He also told us that Charlie is such a nice guy and that they have the intention to play together again - about 4 or 5 times.

What a super night. As others have mentioned, fantastic musicianship, amazing boogie-woogie... Was great to meet up with stones friends and also meet some new people. Was surreal to see charlie literally brushing shoulders with me on the way to the stage. He looks really well, was very happy and playing superbly.

Tim, those people in between me and paul and then me and beast are just random imposters that got into the photo, which was taken at a pub after the show. I have no idea who they are!!
