OT: Fender Deluxe Amp...comments...

Thinking of checking this amp out. I have to downsize my amps.
Can't fit a V4 and a Mesa in a Mini-Cooper.
I've only played them in passing, and they seem pretty good to my ears.
IT's a favorite of Neil Young's and the Deluxe and the Vox Conqueror
were Lennon's amps on the White Album.
Comments? Thoughts?

Deluxe reverb? Blues Deluxe? Hot Rod Deluxe? Deluxe re-issue? silver Face?
what was it you wanted?

Which Deluxe are you referring to? The Tweed Deluxe, Deluxe Reverb reissue, or Hot Rod Deluxe?

I have a Tweed Deluxe, and my Tele sounds like heaven through it, highly recommended! The last one is terrible (IMO), very harsh sounding, way too loud, and just not pleasant. I don't know the DRRI.

I strongly recommend the blackface reissue deluxe reverb. I've had mine 16 years and it's performed quite ably since i replaced the rectifier tube with a solid state rectifier, which kept it from blowing fuses when i stepped on the armageddeon pedal. Great sounding amp. And it's said to be the most recorded amp in the world. Said by Fender anyway.

The hot road deluxe and the blues deluxe are nowhere near as good.

Sorry about that. I meant the '65 Deluxe Reverb reissue.

That's exactly mine. Great amp.

Depends on what wattage you want. You could might be able to get away with 15 watts valve amp even in a band situation (depending on the drummer). It will be smaller to cart around as well. Consider a point to point wired amp rather than one with a PCB (more expensive though).

That's a great one. The 40W is great, both for practice and live shows.

my deluxe is 28 watts, my pro junior is 15. the pro junior i use more than the deluze actually. much more. i and will kimbrough use them in tandem and have actually played outdoor festivals with them. you just pump them up in the monitors and away you go. and you don't get a hernia carrying them.

The other amp you could consider is a Fender Princetown reverb it's only fifteen watts but sounds great.

You can't always get what you want.....
