I just came across this for the first time. I vaguely remember when Bono looked liked this - maybe 1984?

'87 as Bobo correctly says (U2 would have been on the 'Joshua Tree' tour at the time)

Ronnie and Bill did a series of interviews with various musicians for an Italian TV series called "Estate Rock" which was broadcast during the summer of 1987

Good interview. I like the part where Bono says he doesn't want to spend too much time on making the next record. How long did they spend on Achtung Baby?

josh.

i stopped liking them in '86/87 - their sound changed too much for me. saw them in '84, but then again last tour (by myself, $12 ticket) and was impressed. i miss that raw sound from the heart that they had initially.

They both seem uncomfortable.

I never knew Bono used to look like that for some time.

Gazza, do you know whether Bill's interviews and the other ones Ronnie did are to find anwhere on the net?

The next was Rattle And Hum, not Achtung Baby - that came after that, but I can see what you mean. Your point is even more relevant these days. Anyway, it is a nice interview. I would also like to see some more than Ronnie and Bill have done.
