There was a Little Axe featuring Bernard Fowler show on April 6 in Budapest. Show was great, but 'special guest' Bernard was not there at all.
I talked to the local promoter and to the tour manager of the band and they said that Bernard was recording with the Stones and they hadn't finished so bernard couldn't come.
What do you think? Have you guys heard something about this?

It's news to me, but Ronnie is reportedly busy recording a solo album, so Bernard might be busy with that, too, or there might even be bigger things to come ... who knows.

Yes, it can be, but I can't imagine that a recording session with Ronnie could ruin Bernard solo plans. Maybe I just want to dream that bigger things would come...

i'd be surprised if bernard went out there just for one show...i could see a mini-tour but that's a long way for just one show.

doubtful. any add-ons that bernard might be providing would be very late in the proceedings, which means there would be some general knowledge of the stones recording together by now.

That's only if it is the traditional way with studio time booked for the whole band. If they're working on tracks piecemeal, individual tracks could be in an advanced stage without our knowledge. While we know Mick has been working on a project with Dave Stewart off and on for the past year, we don't know what he's done with protools in the privacy of his homes. Likewise, Keith and Blondie have booked studio time with no one knowing what the purpose was. Keith worked with The Dirty Strangers and Marianne Faithfull without anyone aware of it until the albums were released. So much is done without artists physically being together that it is much easier to keep these things quiet.

but it runs counter to their longtime MO - stones recording sessions, like rehearsal sessions, are usually very public affairs.

I heard that Mick and Keith are working and writing songs together.Don't want to say where though.

"Sing Me Back Home" on Marianne's new album has Keith on guitar and backing vocals. Going from memory here, but Keith co-wrote two tracks on the brand new Dirty Strangers album - I believe they are called "Bad Girls" and "Real Botticelli." Keith plays piano on both tracks.
