Stones using wireless micophones

When did the Rolling Stones started using wireless microphones? 1981? That technology definitely "liberated" them by allowing Mick, Keith and Ron to move & play freely on the big stadium stage. Didn't do much for Bill, I guess. Anybody against wireless microphones?

Nothing against wireless microphones; only the ones that are glued in-between tongue-and-cheek.....like Jagger has been using for Miss You lately - vulgar equipment

It certainly changed Jagger's stage persona - when he just kept the mic on the stand for a lot of the show ala 69-73, he had an entirely different way of working the stage.

Was Jagger using a wireless on the '78 tour?
The guitars were (by Nady), but were the vocals?

75 for sure. I remember seein him use that in my first stones show san fran july 16 75 and it definitely made an impression on me and left an indelible imprint on my plexi-mind.

just my first fascination with the stones equipment, stage set, and accessories, of course

Uh...

I remember my 1976'concert in France,Jagger was using a wire microphone and the guitars also had wire.Wires running all over the stage.

I don't like so much wireless microphones,I prefered when Jagger was moving on stage with his microphone on a leg (foot??How do you say "pied de micro?)
Wireless microphone make me think to Madonna. sad smiley

I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .

There's no reason NOT to use a wireless unless you're Roger Daltrey and twirling a mic around on a wire is part of your stage act.

Actually, Mick used the wireless only part of the time on the 75 TOTA. He still was whipping around the mic cord on the Rambler...at least in Greensboro and Jacksonville, toward the end of the tour. I still miss that on the recent tours.
